Temple days

Post by Bamboo Grove »

We are making a Finnish-Thai calendar for next year. Now the problem is that we can´t find the temple days from anywhere. I´ve tried googling both in English and Thai. Does anybody know where to find these dates. Maybe Lomu´s missus might know. Temple days are not the same as the Buddhist holidays, which are easily found. There are much more Temple days than Buddhist holidays in a year.

I'll ask the missus when she wakes up. Her Mum may have a calendar for next year. I'll come back to you as quickly as possible.

Hi BG

Mrs. T gets a huge thick 'Temple' calendar every year.

It covers such goodies as what to give to the occupants of the spirit houses on a day by day basis - I jest not!!

I'm sure that this is what you are looking for.

I will enquire to the wise one and revert back :thumb:

Have been informed by Mrs.T that these calendars are avilable in most bookshops and in the shops that sell the orange buckets, candles, flowers etc.

She says it's a 'Chinese' Calendar..................

Anyway, it's about A5 size but a good 3-4cm thick.

Hope this helps

OK, found a calendar in a notebook diary kind of a thing. They list Thai Buddhist holidays, Chinese Buddhist holidays and common Buddhist holidays for both Thais and Chinese. Wonder which ones are in the wall calendars that can be seen in many homes and offices. The bookshop also sold me a desk calendar claiming the holidays would be there but when I got home and opened it, it only had full moon etc. day. Oh wel, tit. Thanks again for the advice, Terry.
