Moving house - truck needed

Post by dtaai-maai »

I'm moving house soon within the Cha-am/HH area. Does anyone know of a contact for a 10-wheeler to move the furniture, etc.? (I don't think a 6-wheeler will be big enough - I seem to be accumulating assorted domestic crap faster than I ever did in the UK...)

Thanks

Dai-mai -

While I don't actually live in Hua Hin or Cha-Am, I may be able to help. I actually live in a small village tucked away in the mountains towards Burma, but one of my near neighbours has a 'sip-lor', and he may therefore be happy to help you out. I don't no the owner as such, but I do no a colleague of mine at work who has his telephone number. The colleague in question is, quite frankly, a bit of a dipstick, but I think that he might be able to find the number, if he felt like it.

Any use? Do feel free to PM me if you would like to no more.

Randy, I've arranged transport baan-baan with the sort of large-bottomed vehicle you refer to. PM me early next month and I'll let you know how it works out.

Parahandy, how lovely to hear from you away from the London Underground. Unfortunately your near neighbour has lost out on the opportunity of earning quite a few cases of Chang by being drunk at the wrong time (i.e. when I wanted to speak to him). I spoke to your colleeg and he sends his luv.

Referring to my other post where I inquire regarding truck rental possibility can Mr. dtaai-maai give me further details? I can PM you if you want but the information might be of interest to others as well.

Also I remember a poster reporting about moving house from Pattaya to Hua Hin. Superb report that included several photographs. Cannot find it using Search Button. Was it Mr. Big Boy maybe? Excuse me if I am wrong. Anyway: did this person get his truck from Hua Hin?

Help appreciated. Will move from Hua Hin to Krabi at the end of this month. Thanks.

Sorry Roel, it wasn't me - I don't move to Thailand until next year. I seem to recollect it may have been sandman67 or pfotoguy369 (probably wrong) - I've tried to search for you, but our network at work is terrible today.

Thanks for the reply Big Boy. Now that you mention it I think it was Pfotoguy indeed. Maybe Pfotoguy or Dtaai Maai can reply to this as soon as they have read it. Otherwise I will give it another two or three days and then PM the above mentioned gentlemen. Or maybe Randy Cornhole has a tip because he just moved house over a substantial distance. Although I am not sure whether they already have internet connection in Surin. :P :P

Roel: Randy Cornhole did a mammoth trip with all his stuff from Hua Hin to Surin. The trials and tribulations with photos can be seen on www.thaidave.blogspot.com.

I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you PM'd him for the removal company. I think he's still in contact although he's way out in the sticks.

Mr. dtaai-maai and Mr. Cornhole. I sent you both a PM a while ago. Replies with info highly appreciated since we move from Hua Hin to Krabi on or about April 1st next. Therefore truck urgently needed. Thanks in advance.
