Hi Firkin, don't worry about the odd strange replies. Judging by the name I should be female, but might just have a weird name, like John Wayne did.
Anyway as people have said there are plenty of western women out there so don't worry. I was there 5 years, and know there are still loads who don't get onto HHAD. Which is a shame.
There is one point though, which I've mentioned seperately to Buksida, that a fair number of HH farangs are Scandinavian or other European. I notice there are 2 (men) who regularly post, but their English is excellent. For some it might be a language problem, not to mention lack of uhmlauts etc on keyboards.
Don't be put off, and good luck!

Women on HHAD
Sorrreeee just noticed there IS a Nordic section!
"There are quite a few farang women living and working in Hua Hin, though I'm not sure how many hang out on HHAD. There's a book club, bridge, yoga, lunch and coffee groups. Haven't found any tennis or scrabble or wine tasting groups, but I'd bet they exist."
Never mind the bridge club - there's also a ladies darts team that plays regulary (currently doing particulary well even if I do say so myself) and an almost all ladies pool team too I think.
What I'm trying to say is that there is a vast range of activities depending on what you enjoy.
Huahindolly - where can you find out more information about book clubs etc. I work so lunch and coffee groups are no good, but if there are evening activities, is there a website or something?

Activities, etc.
Hi ADW,
Good to hear about darts and pool, too. And, I think there are a few women who do the weekend Hua Hin Hash events - which I plan to do sometime in the near future. I'd really like to find an informal tennis group.
The book club I belong to meets on Tuesday mornings, 10 - noon. I'm a relative newcomer, so I don't know the "rules." If you're interested in joining us, I'll ask the organizers about the protocol; I don't know of any that meet in the evenings, but I'll bet there are some. Coffee gatherings are in the mornings, too, Monday/Wednesday/Friday around 11 at La Baguette.
Hope this helps, and maybe I'll meet you a gathering sometime!

As Dawn said, there are a few of us female farangs coming and going to HH over the year, and I am often but -irregularly - visiting HHAD.
My job-situation permits me to work online several months per year, and why not do it in HH?
I love the climate and town, food, people, and -as touched upon on another thread -as a female you feel relatively secure walking the streets in HH, which is not always the case back in Europe.
I have not had the time to join any clubs or other activites so far, but it's good to know they exist.
See you around!
