90-Day Registration by post

Last time we went and did our 90-day thing (and we've been doing it for five years here) I politely asked if we could send it. It's far more convenient for us out in the sticks (our schedule this term doesn't include a free day) and, more importantly, it avoids wrecking the suspension on our lovely aged car. 'Oh yes', the rather handsome and very polite man said, and duly wrote down the address on a piece of paper.

Last week I sent the required bits and pieces off. I knew exactly what to send, because when we lived in Nakhon Pathom we always did it by post.

Got a telephone call today. Ever so politely telling us that we can't do it by post we have to come there in person. Oh, and it's got to be in the next couple of day, and we shut at 3.30. Bother! We're working 5 days a week and it's a damn nuisance, trying to fit it in (especially as they close at 3.30).

We have no choice but to trundle down there tomorrow, and I'll (ever so politely) find out why they won't accept a postal registration when most other immigration offices will.

I do wish they'd get themselves sorted out down there. It seems to me that the right hand hasn't the faintest idea what the left hand's doing.

Has anyone else managed a postal 90-day at Hua Hin?

Hello VS. Forgive me if I'm wrong but, did you send it to immigration in Huahin? If so, it should have been sent to Soi Suan Phlu in Bankok, they are the only people that I know of that accept registration by post.

Only Me: No, I did sent it to Hua Hin because they said I could...

Went there today, tried to stay cool, Parahandy had to kick my leg as I was asking the nice lady about the telephone call yesterday. She knew nothing about it. Gave us another form to fill in and said that we didn't need to come here ourselves - we could send a driver from the university with our passports. In and out in five minutes, but could have done without the hassle (lumpity, bumpity, bump for the poor car).

Ho hum. Go with the flow.

OM is correct, you can send it by mail to Bangkok or send someone else with your passport to Hua Hin, have done both many times.

I have sent to Samut Sakon by post many times , but now HH is so close i take in person, and have changed to HH now as my point of contact, since they opened the office.
