Water shortage?

I have had no water in my garden since Sunday (my garden is linked to the outside source of water & my house water comes from a tank, which is fed - usually daily - from the outside source). Now my house tank has run dry. The dog center has had small amounts of water sporadically over the last few days. I've just phoned my helper to find if she knows anything & she says her house (off soi 102) has had no water, either. She said she'd seen in the newspaper that 'Pranburi haven't sent any water to HH' (her words). I'm hoping I can get a water bowser to put some water in my tank, or littl'un, 25 dogs & I are going to have problems.

Anyone else experiencing problems? Does anyone know anything more about why there's no water or when we can expect it again?

Where I am living now (Borfai) is quite a way from where you live and we have had no water problems at all. I used to live in Samorphong though (still some way from you i know) and we were always having problems, I'd say on average every couple of months over a number of years, although on a couple of occasions it was some idiot (or children) turning off our tap (by the meter) outside! I never did find out why this happened, but would assume it could be that they switch off the water in certain areas when they are repairing or doing regular maintenance, but if that is the case it would be nice if they (a) put some sort of notice up in the area, and (b) had water trucks touring around. I would also imagine it has to be turned off when connecting new houses or developments? We had one water pump burn out because of this which had to be replaced. It could be that there is a water shortage but I doubt it as we have had a fair bit of rain (unusually) in the last couple of weeks.

Little or no water for the last few days I'm afraid.
Yesterday I even heard that it's a shortage of drinking water supply to fill up your 10 liter bottles as well.

I haven't even had it during those times.

To top it all, the bowser didn't come, because it had run out of water. I have about enough to wash up & give little boy a Thai bucket shower before school tomorrow (& to 'flush' the loo about once) - fingers crossed he keeps his promise to come to me first thing tomorrow morning (or the water comes back on)

Dawn, you might be having the same problem that we get up in the village during the very regular water shortages and rationing.
Basically when they turn the water back on in the evening, everybody starts filling up their tanks causing the pressure to drop to nothing, which means that only the houses at low points in the main get anything.
It’s possible that this is why WL has found his stop valve turned off as well, as people try to sneakily turn-off other houses to get some water!

It looks like the stop valve thing happened to me, as well. Trouble was, with no water coming through, it was difficult to know if it was on or not. So, I hit on the bright idea last night of leaving it half & half. Sure enough, this morning there was a trickle coming through, so I could turn it both ways to see which way was off & which was on (I've now written AC for anti clockwise on the meter to let me know that anti clockwise is on, if it happens again). Water is still trickling very slowly into the tank (none in the garden), so hopefully it'll fill up over the course of the day.

I must admit, I'm still rather peed off, though. In the UK, if there is a water shortage, the first thing they do is institute a hosepipe ban. Not here. All over HH, people are able to water their gardens, refill their swimming pools, clean their cars, water golf courses etc, while an area of the town is cut off virtually completely to compensate for that (even though I think my stopcock may have been turned off, I'm not sure of that & I did test it about 20 times yesterday & there was no water coming through at all). So, some people have to pay for bowsers (if they can afford it) & wash etc in murky brown water from Lord knows where or do without water, while others notice no hardship at all. I think this is something that the water authority might want to think about. Naah, why would they? Far easier to do it this way...

Not sure where about in Borfai you stay Wanderlust but where I am up soi 6, we're luck to see council water at all. Saying that, last week it was on everyday but thats the first time since we moved here and now its been off again for the last three days. Spend a fortune on getting water trucked in and while they all tell you its clean water, it comes out of the klong.

No water supply up where I am. You just drill a 4000 bht well (pump included) and you have fresh clean water for as long as you need it...

hmmm...I really would appreciate to drill a well, because the water supply is more than worst in the moment...seems that HH (infrastructure) is coming down more and more...unfortunately, my house is near city center, so I guess the local administration wouldn't be amused...
