Well things have improved at Kim's Kitchen. Had a delicious breakfast today (and very cheap at that), and the smells coming from the kitchen were positively mouthwatering! Think I'll be back in there tonight to test out their other stuff!

Manee's Bar on Soi Sarawat does a good breakfast, it's not a set, you can make up your own combo of sausages, bacon, eggs etc. Normally for what I get for just under 100 baht would cost almost twice as much in a lot of other places.
Please disregard my previous post about Manee's. It seems that the owner raised the prices a few days ago to be more in line with the competition. Still okay though, just not cheap anymore.

A report on the Thai food will be forthcoming tomorrow :)

This thread has been split into a separate thread as it had meandered considerably from the original post. You can continue the other discussion on the thread Northern England eating habits.

P.S. Farang, can you post your last one again on the other thread as I do not have the power to move an individual post and it made no sense here now so I deleted it!

I can confirm Kim's Kitchen is on form right now. Had some delicious Thai food, and can confirm that the massaman and pad thai gai are both excellent, the pad thai being the best in Hua Hin and the Masaman having the most delicious succulent chicken that just melts in the mouth. Excellent.

Went for breakfast there which was not bad. Not as good as Victoria's but better price. Went back for Thai food that night and was quite disappointed. Tried the Massaman and have had WAY better at a beach bar in Khao Takiab. The chicken in the Massaman at KK is dry and hasn't been marinaded nearly long enough. Also got some deep fried beef which was black and burnt. Will probably go back for breakfast but their Thai food is definitely nothing to get excited about.

Weird, doesn't match up with my experiences. Their Thai food is delicious.

Just getting out all my food gripes today. Exercising the demons. I really wouldn't complain unless it was bad. I might seem like a food snob but black burnt beef is black burnt beef. No excuse for serving that in my opinion. Says to me that they don't care about what they're putting out.

If it was burnt then yes I'd complain, but I've now had a few meals there and they've all been cooked perfectly, so as richard says, probably a bad day. Even Mini Farm once served up a shite undercooked meal, even though they're normally wonderful (if a tad expensive).
