Vermin Exterminator Wanted

Post by Jaime »

I have a vermin infestation in my loft - definitely mammals, I guess rodents - scurrying sounds can be heard overhead as I type.

Can anyone recommend someone in Hua Hin who can quickly & effectively rid me of these pests? I then need to get the eaves properly sealed but first task is eradicating the infestation.

I've just seen Ratatouille and it hasn't made me feel any more welcoming to the b****rds!

Jaime, I thought you would be setting traps and getting the barbecue warmed up!

OP, the couple next door to us has had rats in their garden and they have put down poison, traps, etc and nothing has cured the problem yet. He even connected a hose pipe to the exaust of his car and stuck the other end down a hole where he thought they were hiding. Of course when he told me this I was in fits of laughter and it brought back memories of a movie I once saw called "Cadieshack"

We had a problem for a while and we found those sticky traps you can buy worked for us. You get them at Seven Eleven if you want to try them. You simply fold them open, put a tasty treat in the centre and when Mr rat walks onto it he gets stuck in the glue. The only thing is, you are left with a rat which is stuck but still alive so you'll have to kill it yourself.

The only other thing I can think of is to get in touch with any of the pest control people, who I'm sure, will take on the job.

The sticky things work but it is a slow painful death. You would also need a lot if you have a few families up there.
The pest control people will do the job and also do cockroaches, ants, etc at the same time.
Be careful with where you put the sticky pads as they also attract some birds and its not much fun to see.

Thanks guys - next question: Does anyone have contact details for the above mentioned 'Pest Control People?'

I'm only here for another week, hence the need to get someone to possibly complete the job after I'm gone.

Assistance would be much appreciated.

Just a thought here, but why not try the Tessabahn? I'm sure it's them who occasionally come round and spray stuff into the drains. They could well have a pest control department who would be willing to take care of your uninvited guests - for a fee.

Thanks again for the replies - I've now realised that not only do I have rats in the loft (I have been up there and caught sight of one before it scurried away) - but what is keeping me awake is actually a cat in the loft chasing the rats. I have a major cat shit problem in the garden and at night outside my window wailing so it explains everything. Since I regard cats as another form of vermin it looks like I'll get to kill two birds with one stone! Happy days!
