In the event of a car/motorcycle accident what (assuming if one is still cosnscious and have type 1 insurance) R U required to do in Thailand??
I gather heading for the hills is not uncommon for the locals1

Step 1 - call the police (before an offduty copper who is a friend of the family turns up)

Step 2 - call the insurance company, don't wait til later.

Step 3 - surrender no cash to anyone under any circumstances, and no documents to anyone (unless of course it's the nice policeman who responds to your call, but make sure he is!)

Step 4 - pray heartily nobody is seriously hurt, for everybody's sake.

Step 5 - at all costs, stay cool, calm and collected.

Step 0.5. Take pictures of the accident from all angles before doing any of the later listed steps.

In the days before digital cameras, I used to carry a one-use disposable camera, some even came with flash!

The pictures proved invaluable in a couple of circumstances.

These days video is getting so cheap I may just consider one mounted on the dash...
