Where do I find the music?

Post by PatongCrawler »

Hi there everybody! I'm landing in HH in the beginning of may, and I'm there for party! What I'm looking for is bars that play heavier music like hardrock or plain rock n' roll, older or new doesn't matter! Also bars with livemusic is interresting! I was in HH 2006 shortly, and couldn't find so much. No discoshit for me, had enought about that in Patong!

 :guns:

Many bars have computer where you can select your music and many will play what you want from their cd libraries

Cruise the bars as they go up and down

If they are playing trance or hiphop it's usually the girls choice. Don't forget YOU are the customer. The only likely conflict is a farang who is in there before you and wants selection first

Flamingo bar and the small bar next door have a good selection of heavy stuff

Many bars do have live music but not every night. Johney Walkers, Buffalo Tavern and Uturn to name a few. Best to ask them direct which nights

As our tastes seem to be the same we may bump into each other

It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.

For computer music Mike in Geronimo Bar has a pretty massive collection....

..the only bar in town where Ive heard "Rockin in the Free World" , or "One" by Metallica one minute and "Jump" by Derek and Clive or "The Lumberjack Song" next.....usually followed by "London Calling" or "You Bet"...

he also stops his lasses playing that god awful car alarm thai rave music....

thank god for mp3s :thumb:

Trouble is, the tastes of other customers may not be to your liking.
You know, just when you have clicked on some good ol' rock n'roll some twat comes along seconds later and chooses Phil Collins-like drivel .... or worse Michael Bolton :cuss:

Thanks you all with a rockerheart!! Like Sandman says, thank God for Mp3:s! Myself have the whole collection of 4500 songs whereever i go! But I thanks you all for the info, and like richard said, maybe we bump into each other out there? So if you see a bald guy with a Harley T-shirt going nuts to Metallica, Iron Maiden or some other heavy stuff over a beer, it could be me?

Ah Iron Maiden.....how many air guitars have been thrummed to "Phantom of the Opera"?

Mad pop fact: The original bass player of Texas, a 5'1" cute scots lass, used to warm up before the gig by playing the opening bass run from Phantom over and over again.......magic to watch. :thumb: They also used to do the odd encore of "Sweet Child of Mine".... :thumb:

Do they still use the opening run of Phantom in the UK for Formula 1 program theme music?
