Thai Driving Licence Update

Post by Sorrento10 »

Got a licence on Tuesday at Pranburi, they no longer require the driving licence photos as they now have a "Smart" machine that takes your picture and pastes it onto the licence (plastic) before printing. They also wanted photo copies of my UK licence (as well as seeing it) and I was very glad to have taken my Passport along.

All in all and exhausting day!

Was it a new licence or a renewal? I am surprised they did not ask you for a work permit or medical certificate. They usually want to see a work permit or alternatively a confirmation of address from embassy or immigration. A first-time application gives a one year licence and 5 years are given upon renewal.
