several teams are possible winners, but my choice would be spain.
far to long under achievers & this time i think they will finally deliver the goods
holland at 14/1
have to be a good e/w bet

With Switzerland being one of the host countries,I would love them to win it.....but cant see it somehow.
I'd hope that,at long last,Spain play to their abilities in a major championship and win it if the Swiss cannot.
Failing that,I've always had a soft spot for the Dutch.
It will seem strange not seeing England playing badly but scraping through the group stage before being eliminated in the quarter finals on penalties !

Keep your money in your pocket guys!!
We might have some of the best strikers in the world, but our defence is terrible. But there is always a chance. Like Cruyff once replied when confronted on a press conference with the fact that Ajax had conceided so many goals in their last games: "doesn't really matter as long as you score one more than your opponent"
Therefore: Holland - Italia 4 - 3 Holland - France 5 - 4 and Holland - Romania 0 - 0 (because they are already qualified by then)

We are all living in 'the good old days' of the future.
Holland forward Ryan Babel will miss Euro 2008 after suffering an ankle injury in training.
Scans have shown that Babel tore ligaments in his ankle during a training session on Saturday morning.
The Dutch Football Association have confirmed that the Liverpool man will be sidelined for several weeks with the injury.

I'll come round and pick up your stake tomorrow.Wanderlust wrote:I also predict Italy to go out in the group stage.
It is very bold to predict and early departure of the World Champions even though it is a very tough group. How did that happen. Three of the bookie's top eight in the same group withn a strong outsider. However I think France will not progress.
My choice for winner has to be Spain but I can not discount Germany as they have a near home advantage aswell. Spain have the strikers though and probably their best team for 30 years.
Tores to be top scorer with a brace in the final.
