Native British English male 52. MBA and various post-grad dips plus CELTA. Academic/uni background.
Currently full-time at Chula (English/TEFL lecturer) in BKK, said to be Thailand's No. 1 University. Good reputation, hard working, excellent grammar knowledge.
Around 15 years experience TEFL plus prev. experience (London uni) teaching Business subjects in English (BA Business, HRM, Marketing).
Expert in medical English (is also RN/SRN qualified and former hospital manager) and business English (LCCI Cert Bus Eng). Wide experience in UK, Spain and Thailand. Also--Teacher Training experience.
Available for college/uni posts in HHCAPetch area. Would also consider Hotels, Corporate, DOS-type posts or Int'l Schools (A level Business, IB, TEFL plus may offer swimming teacher/lifeguard experience if req). Moving from BKK during the next 3-4 months, or earlier.
Cv and many refs available.
Regret no availability for very young/kindergarten type schools. Ditto budget language schools seeking newbie teachers.
I have sent CV to Webster and Stamford, awaiting replies. They seem to be slow down there! Can anyone give me the lowdown on these two--I have heard good and bad-- plus any other schools, unis, etc etc in HHCAPetch? General info/opportunities?
Thanks
P Ed
Chulalongkorn Lecturer seeks HHCA post. Moving down!
stamford
Stamford I know very well! I left there after six years, but I am still in close touch with the remaining "ex pat" faculty & any number of students.
A few things are public knowledge. .the name change ("international" being phased out) the new campus in Bangkok, and the near certainly of the Hua Hin campus being closed when that happens, the loss of government accreditation, the moves to make it a totally Thai university, etc.
Anyway, PM me and I will fill you in further on the place.
I certainly recommend, at very least, an onsite visit and a frank chat with current faculty, students and staff ( without management being present) at both Webster and Stamford!
(You heard something good about Stamford?. . .love to hear it.)
