Re-entry Permits

Post by niggle »

Need to nip up that delightfull immigration office next week to geta re-entry permit. As I may be out and about a bit next year it makes sense to get a multiple re-entry but .....
Are they ok about issuing them in HH
My year visa espires in sept. If I get a multiple re-entry will that automaticaly expire at the time my visa expires ?

Although i have never had one on an extended visa, which I assume you are talking about, I would guess that the answer can only be yes, as it certainly is on any other type of visa.

Would agree with WL. If you've got an annual extension to a Non O visa, any re-entry permit will only be valid in conjunction with that extension and expire with it.
You mention coming and going a bit next year, but your extension (if that's what it is) expires in September. You're best off getting the multi re-entry permit at the same time as your new extension and just get a single re-entry permit now - unless you intend exiting more than once before September.

A bit of a grey area with the dates of extension visa and when you want to re-enter. I am on a retirement extension and last year the renewal date was such that I may not have returned by the due date. They told my daughter; "just come and see us (me?) when you return and I can fix it"! I decided to wait a bit and renewed my extension and got a re-entry at the same time, before I left the country. The re-entry is stamped, "valid until..........." ( the same date that the extension is valid )

Hope that makes sense!
May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!
