At a loose end

Post by huahincharlie »

Can anyone suggest a good place to go as a single bloke just wanting to make new friends?

Unfortunately I've found myself on my own again. The girlfriend claimed she needed to stay in Bangkok with the family but I went there early this morning and found she'd not been seen there for several days. I couldn't get a confession from her, but at 5:30 in the morning when I called, it's unlikely for someone to be 'shopping at Central' and 'visiting the market', as she claimed.

So, I'm back on my own. I can't stand the girlie bars and the same old rubbish from the working girls.

When does one go for good company around here?

Charlie

if you are in the Central area at about 10 or 11pm at night pop into Geronimo Bar.....its less of a girlie bar and more of an ex pats club....everyone in there is friendly and Mike the landlord is a good source of local knowledge. Good tunes too.

Most of the lads in there are looking for a bit of chat, peace and quiet, cold beer and footy on the TV etc....90% are residents with the odd returning tourist on a second or third visit into town.

Im usually in after midnight  sod the lass....come and have a beer  Ask Mike if Davey's in...Ill buy you one.

Many thanks, that's helpful. But where is it? I've searched on Google and in this forum. Maybe the name's spelled differently!

Wander down Poolsuk down from Bintabaht....Luck Lukes is on the corner. As you are walking down theres a pizza place on your right - Sara Janes.

Go backwards three steps....small bar with a white sign of an Indian Chief Head...Geronimo Bar. Small place, couple of lasses sitting at a table outside....lads watching footy inside...cool music.....thats the place.

Come on down....the blue margaritas are lovely!
