Immigration Department Working Hours

Post by PET »

Can anybody tell me when the Immigration Dept closes each afternoon, as I have to get my 90 day stamp on Monday as Tuesday is a Public Holiday?

I believe it is 4pm but I can't swear to it; however I would advise going as early as you can just in case there is any problem, although they are normally quieter in the afternoon. I must admit though I wasn't aware that Tuesday is a public holiday - where did you find that out and what is it for?

The missus has just confirmed that Tuesday is a Bank Holiday - at least according to her calendar. Weird, and she dosn't know what it's for.
Remember that you have 7 days grace either side of your reporting date, but I did hear recently that HH were oblivious to that.
Here's the link to the Thai Imm website:

http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/en ... age=90days

If you can get there a day early, I'd suggest you do so and if you get the chance to bring this 7 day period up with them, please report back.

if you look at the date on the link it says"nov 2004" think its out of date.

last week on all imm desks had a piece of paper highlighted saying report within the 90 days, not more than 7 days before.

as I read it i was told 2000 baht for reporting late "new Rule"

lets wait and see.

I'm not doubting the pieces of paper, heretostay, but November 2004 is not out of date.
AFAIA, they are the current Immigration Laws. However, some aspects were amended in October 2006. I'm not aware of any other changes since then.
However, if you are fined 2,000 Baht for late reporting (and that's always been the case, nothing new), then I'd suggest the culprit gets a signed and dated receipt from HH Immigration together with this "notification" and sends it to Soi Suan Plu in Bangkok for clarification.
I'll always stand corrected on Imm matters as the sands shift so often. However, I've never seen an official amendment to the link I provided above.

I was two days late on my 90 day reporting last month.

All I got was a 'Sawadee Ka', new stamp, new date, a smile and off I went.

Less than a minute all in.

I've never had a problem with Immigration in Hua Hin. :thumb:

But I know some that always have a problem of some kind or other.

Thanks for Thai Imm link Lomuamart because it may be difficult for me to get to HH Imm Dept before 4.00am Monday, so I am sending my girlfriend Mon am because the Imm Dept link sais that I can authorise another person to make the notification.
I shall report back on this - but has anybodyelse done it?

I know a few people who have Work Permits and Non Imm B visas - they have to do the 90 day reporting as well. I believe the office secretary goes for them. Maybe they'll be able to confirm?
You'll also note that reporting can be done by post, although that probably won't help you this time. I'm not sure exactly how that works.

I still do not know about fines for late reporting because I did not go myself.

You didn't fined which is correct - either side of 7 days.
