They were obviously a few hours out, but we got heavy rain in the evening and according to the forecast from Pete, a lot more still to come over the next 1-2 days, so batten down the hatches again!!hhfarang wrote:Pete, according to today's hourly report on that same site (Accuweather) we should be having rain and thunderstorms right now and it is blue skies and sunny... so I think weather reporting is still an art rather than a science.

It's all relative HHF, yes your right when you say it's only cold for Thailand, as opposed to where we grew up, but I've got used to sitting outside without a shirt on but today even with a small t-shirt on it felt quite nippy. Having looked at the UK temperatures of about 9C, I'm feeling a lot warmer!!hhfarang wrote:Cold? Less hot for a change would be a more apt description. You know you've been in Thailand too long when you think 25 degrees is cold! That's what it is outside right now. I grew up being taught that 72 degrees (22c) was normal comfortable room temperature and you're talking cold at 25...![]()
Cold doesn't even start until you get below 50 degrees F (10c).![]()
Pete, someone once said "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco". That's because it is on the end of a peninsula surrounded by the cold waters of the Pacific ocean and generally has strong winds blowing through the city off those cold waters. It can be 60 above and feel like 5 below zero because of the wind chill. I can't tell you how many times we left a 90 degree San Jose for a day trip to San Francisco and had to buy jackets or sweatshirts once we got there. We just never seemed to learn or believe that it could be that much colder 45 minutes away in central California.prcscct wrote:I spent a month in San Francisco back in June/July where the morning temps at dawn were 10-11c. I was wearing my son in law's winter coat while sitting by the pool drinking morning coffee! Absolutely my body never acclimated for the entire month.Pete
