Not sure where this fits best?

Thai TV news with obligatory parade of the arrested person, but shielded by a mask, is reporting that the Swiss owner of a restaurant in Hin Lek Fai has been arrested for keeping his restaurant open, defying current Government regulations.

Pic of arrested suspect at Police station and name of restaurant withheld.

Thailand confirms 89 new coronavirus patients; manhunt underway for Thais escaping quarantine.

Thailand’s government confirmed on Saturday 89 new coronavirus patients and one more fatality as the total number of patients climbed to 2,067 infected.

“Although the number has come down under one hundred, it is still high and we must help each other,” said Government Spokesman Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin.

Government figures revealed that 31 more patients had recovered from the disease bringing the total number of recovered to 612 patients.

Dr Taweesin said that returning Thais from abroad were contributing to new infections and that Thais must cooperate to stop the spread of disease.

The spokesman mentioned a group of Thais who returned Friday night to Suvarnabhumi Airport and refused to submit to government-mandated quarantine.

Of 158 returnees, 152 ‘escaped’ from the airport after refusing to cooperate.

“The Prime Minister is not happy that this incident happened at the airport and we are working to ensure it does not happen again,” said Dr Taweesin.

“Because we have not received your cooperation, we must now go out and find you. All 152 returnees last night must come back under state quarantine,” he said. “You have put your parents and families at risk by returning home. If you do not submit to quarantine, you will face the consequences under the law.”

UK Phone Masts Attacked Amid 5G-Coronavirus Conspiracy Theory

Police investigate possible arson attacks as officials reject rumours that 5G causes Covid-19

"Three recent mobile phone mast fires around the UK are being investigated as possible arson, amid concerns that people are attacking telecoms infrastructure because of a conspiracy theory linking 5G technology to the spread of coronavirus.

The mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson, also revealed he had received threats relating to the “bizarre” theory, which has gained traction on social media.

On Friday, emergency services were called to reports that a 5G mast was on fire in Liverpool shortly before 11pm. Police confirmed they were investigating the blaze at Spencer’s Lane, Aintree, close to the M57 motorway.

Fire crews managed to get the fire under control quickly and were photographed parked outside the field shortly after it was extinguished."

If this was here in Thailand I'd believe it, but in the UK that's incredible.

Are we witnessing some form of mass hypnosis?

What's the bet this started off as some bizarre April Fool joke that's got way out of hand.

Just beyond me that not only do some people in the UK truly believe this BS, but would actually act upon those beliefs in such a destructive manner.

Why oh why do some resort to violence/destruction of their own country out of fear/frustration. The "Muppet Brigade" strike again! :banghead:

People are blaming 5G for this virus?

I don't know how they get Huawei with it.

Here's an apparently genuine video of a woman in London who not only thinks that 5G will literally kill us all but also thinks that it's carried by fibre optic cables.

Thai Nationwide Curfew could be extended to more hours, says Deputy Prime Minister
Speaking on Friday night, the Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam told the press that if the current nationwide Thailand curfew, which is currently from 10:00PM to 4:00AM, shows signs of working to help reduce gatherings of people, as well as preventing crime, it could likely be extended to add additional hours. The primary purpose of the curfew is to encourage social distancing to help prevent the spread of the Covid-19 Coronavirus.

Critics of the curfew allege that the limited six hour period may not help stop the virus, however, Mr. Wissanu said that large amounts of mostly young Thai people gathering at night for private parties, as well as an upward tick on crime thanks to millions being temporarily out of work, were primary reasons behind the curfew.

Although a nationwide 24/7 lock-down has been discussed by the Prime Minister, Prayut Chan-O-Cha, who is concerned with the current transmission rate of Covid-19, at this time Mr. Wissanu said it is not feasible, especially in Bangkok.

The curfew exempts some occupations, such as medical and delivery staff, as well as those going to the airport for outbound flights who have approved documentation.

Some occupations, such as fishing, can also get clearance for being out at night during the curfew from local authorities, Mr. Wissanu added.

Those who violate the curfew face fines of up to 40,000 baht and up to two years in prison, which fall under Section 18 of the Emergency Decree that Thailand is currently under until at least the end of April.
