caller wrote:JG, you really make some strange calls. You really don't want to see the likes of Hazard and Oscar in the PL, and they would make it a better place?

Why's that then?

Sounds like the old green eyed dragon is eating you up.
What I'm saying is that Chelsea's luck last season has set them up for a good future. Without that luck they would not be in the CL this season and would not have been able to recruit the great players they now have. The PL would have been more open, as it is 4th spot is probably only available to fight for. So hooray, it's about time they had some bad luck only a pity that it didn't start at the end of last season! I don't think there is anything strange about that. Think about it, Hazard & Oscar would not have joined Chelsea and probably joined another PL club!

In regards to the luck thing at the end of last season, yup the buggers.... bloody nicked our well deserved Champions League spot too (not saying Chelsea didn't deserve it. European Champions is what it is however you swing it. Spurs deserved it too though after a year of games and clinching 4th spot)
Think about it, Hazard & Oscar would not have joined Chelsea and probably joined another PL club!
Which would have been City or United most probably so we're in the same boat. If we'd have got that Champions league spot and money, maybe we could have nicked Oscar... there was talk about that at one point.

Actually I agree with you now thinking about it  . Chelsea you lucky old scoundrels you... WE could have had Oscar. :cuss:

Doesn't take away the sheer open mouthed shock at the stupidity of the whole melee yesterday. Crazy stuff!

Not in the same boat Chelsea would have been F**ked. Finishing 6th, No CL, No Class players joining.

This would have left the 2 manchester clubs with probably the best players and 3rd and 4th place up for grabs. So I hope you now comprende what I meant by 'about time the wheels turned on them'. Ah and do you remember that goal in the semi's of the FA cup GLC did it cross the line? I could go on. The league looks better now after their loss :guns:

They still would have got class players in either way I reckon. But we maybe could have swung Oscar.

That's when they whooped our sorry arses 5-1 right? Purposely haven't remembered that game for a whole lot of reasons. I do get your point though... Chelsea milked their luck last year but that rock solid defence took them through it all at the end of the day. Park the bus and nick a goal (or 5 if they played us... Cheers Harry  ). I'd take the way they won it every year long season. :D

Sucked to be a Spurs fan at the end of it last year. Don't think I've ever felt as gutted over football as when they nicked the Champions League. Heartbreaking stuff it truly was... :( Many things to look forward to though as a Spurs fan though these days. :D Would be one hell of an achievement if we get up in there this year. 'Tough' is an understatement.

No, GLC is a good sport who takes friendly ribbing in good part, he can`t help not being set on the right supporter`s path when he was a youngster. :thumb:

Mark Clattenburg is set to be sacked by the F.A, as video evidence reveals the referee called Fernando Torres a 'striker'. :golf:

Looks like we shall have to wait for GLCQ's in depth football analysis....he's got himself a red card from Admin :tsk:

We haven't got a milk cup thread or whatever its title is these days, so as Arsenal are a premiership team, I just thought I'd post that after 36 minutes of tonights game at Reading, they are 4-0 down and Wengers just walked off!

Well, would you adam and eve it - The Arse claw back the lead and equalise with the last kick of the game, 1.5 minutes after the ref had played the 4 minutes of injury time! :?

And having been booked, Koscielny should have been given a red after rugby tackling Roberts to the ground (sadly not hurting him), it could have been that incident that added the extra, extra time! He really should have gone. Reading are not amused.

Extra time now.

Well, that was one hell of a mad crazy game! 6-5 (I think) to Arsenal - nuts!

God only knows how Reading will react to that?

Edit - it was Reading 5 Arsenal 7. I must have blinked or lost count?

When i saw it first off, i was fearing the worst, but having seen replays, Roberts has almost pulled his shirt off :?
Maybe the ref gave him the benefit or felt sorry for him as he was having a mare of a game  :|

All in all it was a crazy game

Better stand in & do an update for him . . . .
Norwich came from behind & won 2-1  & Dempsey missed a last gasp penalty

Oh & Swansea won 3-1 at liverpool :thumb:

I'll leave the Chelsk report to caller, i'm sure he's enjoying the game . . . eventually
