I think there may well be a total lockdown for a few days during Songkran. No source or rumour, just an opinion.
Can see your logic....

I can actually see the sense in that. For the 3 days or so to stop idiots ignoring the 'water fight' ban.

No problem with discussion or opinion as long as it is defined as such. Want we want to avoid is unsubstantiated rumours or scaremongering from social media being replicated here - especially since the govt has now made it a criminal offense.

This thread is really for reporting Covid-19 news and updates from official outlets.

Judging by the idiots we have in the UK, there'll be plenty out and about regardless whether there is a lockdown or not...

I couldn't believe the pictures of people having picnics and playing football in the parks on Saturday.

Watched last nights news and the police presence on Saturday may have worked, at least temporarily. The parks and beaches were almost empty as they should be.

Talking to my daughter in Hampshire last night and she said that the sound of police sirens went on all day. And that's not London.

Understood and please feel free to move my post and subsequent replies to a more appropriate thread. Maybe the Songkran activities thread :thumb:

Easter weekend approaching as well, good time to give the cops additional powers to detain or use force to remove these muppets. A crotch full of Taser usually does the trick

Couldn't agree more - with the forecast being for a bright sunny Easter weekend, I can see more Muppets being out and about (or at least trying to do so)....

Here in Luxembourg, you're allowed to go in parks to exercise, I've been walking in them everyday. I do it alone and I keep well away from anyone else.
I live here in a one room apartment and just staying in would be more harmful to physical and mental health than going for a solitary walk, particularly as there is no end in sight to this at the moment.

Yes, Bangkok Post SMS breaking news just reported similar. We'll post the article when it hits their web site.

Getting out and exercising, some fresh air - all good IMO (especially for those in a similar position to yourself), but the guidelines should be followed. The issue is that these Muppets in London were in the park in large groups (3,000+ visited during the day), forcing the police council(s) to close the park indefinitely, stuffing things up for everyone else. All UK parks could well be closed because of this type of thing..... :banghead:

The police have already been given the powers, using force if necessary. Hundreds have already been fined.
Here are the penalties police can impose:

To ensure people stay at home and avoid non-essential travel, from today, if members of the public do not comply the police may:

instruct them to go home, leave an area or disperse
ensure parents are taking necessary steps to stop their children breaking these rules
issue a fixed penalty notice of £60, which will be lowered to £30 if paid within 14 days
issue a fixed penalty notice of £120 for second time offenders, doubling on each further repeat offence

On Sundaty where I live in Kent, there were puttinfg official notices on cars in car parks by the beach, giving a warning that their number had been noted and any further offences would be posecuted.
Then on Facsbook the numptys were saying they had no right to do this. :banghead: :cuss:
