Read most of it, don't see how it proves anything. And the last paragraph, points out some bias with "Republicans", and pretty much destroyed any credibility with me.

I ignore people that use labels. Just more divisionism. Surprised Trump wasn't mentioned ... 😂

It proves that masks reduce transmission of Coronavirus by a percentage.

If you don't want to wear a mask, don't but stay away from other people, for their sake.

I stay away from other people for my sake. I'm responsible for me, they are on their own.

Social distance. personal hygiene (self transmission awareness), and a healthy immune system is the best you can do. Mask does nothing for a healthy person. Actually the opposite, when restricting air intake or trapping all your body is exhaling.

You are never going to stop a virus spreading, unless a total lockdown, and a lot of luck. 99% shouldn't have to suffer for the 1% ... that's just silly. Live healthy, stay healthy, if it's your time ... oh well. Applies to me also. Simply enjoy the life you have, while you have. Frankly, this virus is one of the least things I'm concerned about, with a 99% recovery rate.

Other sh*t scares the hell out of me 😂 and why I get a full med check up every year or so. Catch the scary stuff early if it shows up.

There are many stories of extremely healthy people like yourself contracting covid and in some cases dying. You will find many cases involving people who are young, extremely fit, no underlying conditions and otherwise very healthy.

Coughs and sneezes can spread droplets.
Tiny particles produced by talking can stay airborne for longer and spread further.

Very often, people aren't even aware they have covid (asymptomatic) but can spread it to others, more so if not wearing a mask. Social distancing - yes. But if you're anywhere around people in a public setting then not wearing a mask is just selfish. Thinking of yourself bar others.
Live healthy, stay healthy, if it's your time ... oh well.
And if it's your time then sod anyone else you might bring down with you!

You must have missed this part ... "I STAY AWAY from other people for my sake."
... which is beneficial for those with paranoia about ... everything.

Young healthy people die everyday from scarier things than C19. It's a virus, a disease, like so many others, that don't have a 99% recovery rate.. I prioritize what scares me, and ignore what doesn't. C19 is down at the bottom of the list for my concerns.

Personal choice, but I'm not altering my life, for something so silly. Common sense rules. I see a mask on someone, when there's not a person within 5 meters of them ... sorry ... "idiot" is the first thing that comes to my mind. People driving in their car with masks on ... talk about comic relief.

UP2U, but don't dictate my life.

I think these people call themselves "Libertarians". I would tend to call them selfish twunts.

I tend to agree with that, but in Thailand, it is the law and there are police roadblocks checking for such.

It is also to avoid heavy fines that masks are worn (among other reasons)

A new study, published in the medRxiv depository, now suggests that the novel coronavirus COVID-19 could remain in the air up to 3 hours post aerosolization.

The research also notes that on surfaces such as plastic and stainless steel it can remain live for up to three days, on copper surfaces for four hours and on carboard for up to 24 hours.
"Up to 3 hours!" Long after the infected person has moved on to spread it elsewhere.

I do agree that wearing it in your car is OTT but as Joelle points out, there are heavy fines should you come across a 'jobsworth' cop.

I always wear a mask when doing my daily lake walk, and I rarely see another person for 75% of the circuit. It's my choice, and I do it because the law requires it. It doesn't bother me one little bit. What I did object to though was some European coming up to me, ranting and raving because I was wearing a mask, suggesting that I was going to suffocate and die as a result. Excuse me sir, but it is you breaking the law, not me. I haven't suffocated in the last 12 months of doing this daily. Now just P off, and let me worry about what I'm choosing to do.

I've always said, it is personal choice. If you don't want to comply with the law, then don't - TIT, you are unlikely to get caught, but don't try to preach towards me.

What an absolute bellend! I probably would have lost it a little bit. Leave me the hell alone.

Yea, I would have completely ignored him, and let him ramble on to himself. I hope you didn't bother to engage in conversation with him.

"it's the law" ... that's definitely down to personal choice and a bit selective which to obey. Just add that to all the other laws people ignore; speed limit, helmet, times for alcohol purchase, and I won't even mention 'pay to play' ... oops, too late ... :duck:

Thankfully, where I'm at, they don't seem too concerned about enforcing some laws, as we've waved at each other as they've driven by me while I've been out strolling around, as I do a couple times daily with the dog. If they enforced that, half the town would be fined at certain times of the day.

Since exercising / walk around lake, don't think you need to wear mask. Though I may be wrong. Hope you aren't covering your nose also. Fresh air & vit D, better than house bound ... 👍

Pointless comment, similar to wearing a condom on your cojones :banghead:

Law aside, it's pointless to wear a mask at all, when by yourself. Or as many do, incorrectly (nose) or as a chin guard 🤣

If the walk is for exercise, surely the body would appreciate and function better with unrestricted breathing. Don't know the science, but surely many think it's unhealthy to wear the mask properly while exercising. That would be my uneducated guess. But whatever ... UP2U or whoever.

Quick search, and WHO agrees with my thinking:
"FACT: People should NOT wear masks while exercising
People should NOT wear masks when exercising, as masks may reduce the ability to breathe comfortably.

Sweat can make the mask become wet more quickly which makes it difficult to breathe and promotes the growth of microorganisms. The important preventive measure during exercise is to maintain physical distance of at least one meter from others."
