On a whim I decided to try out my weekly shopping at the new Big C Marche. It might help to know that the checkout cashiers are located in the middle of the store for the general groceries and at a couple other locations depending on what you want to buy. Bread is a separate store, so is the rotisserie and perhaps beauty and tourist sections too. Leave that for others to try.

My story: Grabbed a cart and shopped for a number of the usual grocery items. ( I noted and agreed on the narrow aisles and the poor pet food section as reported above.) I headed for the main checkout and realized that I had to check out before completing my list. I needed bread. Location: on the other side of the cashiers! So what to do? The cashier didn’t know so I ended up checking out and walking to the bread section and added a couple of packaged loaves to my already full cart. Went to pay and discovered that packaged bread is paid for across the aisle at the rotisseries chicken store. ( Bakery is a separate operation) So into my third queue . . .still in the store mind you. (No sign of security at all and the cashiers are all trainees.) I am spoiled by Macro perhaps, but it seems a strange way to do business. Be interested to know how others handled the triple queue.
