I like my superhoeroes, and I was about to start watching Jupiter's Legacy on Netflix, but while looking at the reviews I came across Invincible on Amazon Prime. I'm not a great fan of modern (i.e. in the last 30 years! ) animation, but the reviews were so good I thought I'd give it a quick look.

I've just watched episode 1. Interesting. If you decide to try it, watch it to the end. I'm certainly going to watch a few more episodes.

There’s talk about this being the last series - if that’s so it will by missed by me and going by the ratings, millions of others!!

As stated I really enjoyed S1 to 5 of Line of Duty.

But for some reason, I was disappointed with S6.

Maybe having left it for 18 months the spell had been broken.

Just felt like it was one series too many to me

You could be right that it wasn’t quite up there with previous series, but (IMO) was still good TV and at the moment, there’s very little of that around (although as previously mentioned, I quite liked ITV’s Viewpoint).

I watched the first episode of Invincible last week. Pretty gory. Not top of the list, but will watch when "resting" between episodes of Line of Duty and others.

A similarly gory animated series which might appeal if you like mythology is Blood of Zeus.

I started Jupiter's Legacy but only got halfway through the first episode before losing interest. It's joined Intergalactic in the "don't bother" bin.

The Handmaid's Tale has just started season 4 for those that enjoyed the previous ones.

About 3 years ago I tried 1 episode of this and ditched it.

I don't need to tell you - these things are personal preference.

I liked it because I had to study the book for my English Lit A-level!

We also had a fair amount of Dickens, Donne, and Shakespeare if it makes you feel any better. :duck:

The Nevers

I've just watched episode 1 (1hr 15 mins) and enjoyed it very much. I found it excellent on a number of levels, although Rotten Tomatoes doesn't entirely agree, giving it only a 47% rating. I suppose they've had the benefit of watching the entire series, but I'm looking forward to doing likewise.
In the last years of Victoria's reign, London is beset by the "Touched": people -- mostly women -- who suddenly manifest abnormal abilities -- some charming, some very disturbing. Among them are Amalia True (Laura Donnelly), a mysterious, quick-fisted widow, and Penance Adair (Ann Skelly), a brilliant young inventor. They are the champions of this new underclass, making a home for the Touched, while fighting the forces of... well, pretty much all the forces -- to make room for those whom history as we know it has no place.
[Rotten Tomatoes] Critics Consensus

Despite strong performances and stellar production design, The Nevers struggles to stitch its slew of intriguing components into a solid show.

^^ Further to the above, I forgot to mention that I fell in love at least twice during ep 1. I fear I'm becoming fickle as I get older...
