[Edit] Your appointment card should have a 13 digit code on it similar to mine - 6000000136084. That is what you need to enter, not an 8 digit number.

Call for booster shots for residents of sandbox areas
The Tourism Council of Thailand (TCT) has urged the government to prepare booster shots for residents in sandbox areas.

"Herd immunity across the country, especially in 10 pilot destinations, is the most crucial factor for successful reopening," said Chamnan Srisawat, TCT president.

As the country cannot wait until the outbreak completely disappears, sandbox areas still need more booster shots to mitigate the risk of new variants and possible new rounds of outbreaks which will further hinder tourism recovery, he said.

Some 67% of locals want to get vaccinated within this year, and 50% prefer alternative vaccines than those procured by the government.

Pfizer is the most preferred vaccine for them at 36%, followed by Johnson & Johnson (11%), AstraZeneca (10%), Moderna (8%) and Sinovac (7%), while 26% would be vaccinated with any vaccine.

For those who put their names down with the Thonburi Hospitals for a possible Moderna vaccination (my plan B!) later in the year, the system is down today due to massive volumes of people trying to pay the ฿1200 deposit and get a proper queue number. They say they’ll try to get it working again later today

I seriously doubt there'll be much, if any, Moderna this year. Unless you believe it's already on order.

Vaccine experience
- 15th of May managed, with the help of a Thai friend, to get an appointment for the 1st of July at Cha Am hospital for my husband and I on the Mor Prom App.
- 26th of May went to MV to register as I didn't trust the App but they confirmed our appointments on 1st July at Cha Am.
- 22nd of June received a mail from the French embassy saying that I can get the Janssen vaccine, so I filled the form online with Bkk hospital for an appointment 29th June 8:00.
- 29th of June went to Bkk hospital, in at 8.00 and out by 9.30 vaccinated with the one and only dose of Janssen.
- 1st of July went to Cha Am hospital for my husband, in at 9.00 and out by 11.00 vaccinated with a 1st dose of AstraZeneca.
Btw we were the only foreigners there and majority of the people getting vaccinated were women.
Next appointment for my husband 23rd of September.

No side effects with either vaccines so far

Again, a 12 week interval. Seems this shortening of the gap to 8 weeks is either being ignored or has been 'shelved'.
12 weeks is the interval recommended by AZ.

^^ Wonder how many weeks it will take to get the next 1200 in group 1 after number 3872.

The bigger question is will they get to group 2 before the 2nd shot for group 1?

I had an appointment for 6 July at HHH but since one of the screens I was getting said you could check with the hospital for more details, I called them yesterday. They said the same as that graphic above - the early July appointments are postponed for now.

They did say they would contact people to let them know when they've been rescheduled, though.

If I only get one shot I'll be quite happy. I can manage "a touch of flu" as long as the one shot can protect against full-on Covid-19. Then next year get something better (if available).

For what it’s worth, the good folks at the British Chamber of Commerce are planning “to coordinate and work with the Department of Disease Control at the Thai Ministry of Public Health to identify a solution [for us oldies and those with serious medical conditions who’ve been unable to register for vaccination]. [BCCThai] will also examine potential solutions with other bodies that support British passport holders in Thailand.”

They’re asking unvaccinated/unregistered Brits over 60 and/or with the high risk medical issues to give them contact details
