Last picture Bulgaria? Another Jail? Is it something to do with Europe? I note it has overhead cables, the building looks Spanish though

Not Bulgaria.

Re: History Challenge
Madagascar? Are they all jails?
Re: History Challenge
I think the first one is Kilmainham Gaol in Dublin where the leaders of the 1916 uprising were executed. It was featured on BBC World a couple of weeks a go.

Steve G - Correct for Number #1
The other two are jails as well, only one of them still in use.
Here's a clue
Number 2 is in Asia.
Number 3 isn't in Asia.

No 2 is Insein jail, Rangoon, Myanmar, former home of Aung San Suu Kyi.

Re: History Challenge
Three colors, green, white and red, with an eagle in the middle.
Not Asia not Europe.
An extra clue
I think there is a poster of one of the only two people to escape from it in a bar/restaurant on the top block of the night market.

Re: History Challenge
I thought at first it was a Mexican flag but I couln't think of a British connection.....green, white and red, with an eagle in the middle.

Re: History Challenge
The British relationship has nothing to do with the location, rather it's the buildings themselves.
ETA : Yes, Mexico is right
