Channel 4 ran an episode of their series 'Uncovered' on the 14th which is very damning but cannot be repeated here.
Indeed. Be VERY careful what you post here, this website is monitored and the authorities can ask for more details about members under their draconian internet laws, though they haven't done so yet.

This place really is turning into China ...

Come and enter the alternative reality that is Thai State Media
As stirring theme music plays, the digital logo for NBT News does its digital magic, then fades, revealing a sparkling studio. The TV news studio is sleekly designed, immaculate, and brightly-lit.

Two perfectly poised female newsreaders sit at the same desk. Given their matching yellow blazers, meticulous grooming, and almost identical hairstyles, they could pass for telegenic twins at a glance.

It’s time for National Broadcasting Services of Thailand to give the state’s take on the student demonstrations of October 14, 2020.

Leave it to us from abroad to post stuff in support of the students.

After seeing some videos they have my full support. Initially, I kinda rejected them as I was sick of nasty ill-agenda driven protests disrupting people's day to days around the world. These protesters in Thailand are not of the same ilk though.

I believe the bts and other public transport is closed around bangkok again today after a possible gathering was announced. Someone with Thai reading skills may clarify.

None. Why?

But the students clearly have the support of the opposition parties and the progressive movement and judging by the support they are receiving from the public, much of Joe Public as well. Did anyone see the film of the lady whacking police shields with her 500ml water bottle demanding they stop hurting the children. Priceless.

This country gets more absurd by the day ...

Junta bans selfies ...

The state of emergency decree and the new selfie rule
Here is a list of activities that the Prayut Chan-ocha administration has made illegal due to growing protests and the imposition of their state of emergency decree.

Under the decree, these activities are prohibited from October 15 to November 13, 2020;

The assembly or gathering of five persons and more
Actions that would incite conflict
Distribution of letters and publications, including electronic data, which may instigate fear among the people, or is intended to distort information which misleads understanding of the emergency situation to the extent that is affecting state security
The use of routes, vehicles, or public transports under prescribed conditions and period
The use of buildings, or enter into or stay in any place under prescribed conditions and period

New order:

A recently imposed new order has also made it illegal for people to take and post selfies of the protests on their personal social media.

Those found in violation could face 2 years jail term and a fine of up to 40,000 baht.

Local news has reported that more than then ten individuals have already been arrested for violating the selfie-rule as of Friday.

Sweeping Legal Powers

The new state of emergency rules allows authorities to arrest and detain suspects for up to 30 days without charge – suspending habeas corpus.

The police can also confiscate any communication tools, including smartphones and weapons or products that are being used to support actions that are in violation of the emergency orders.

News outlets can be temporarily shut down if they produce fake news or information that can lead to conflict. The state will decide what is and is not fake news.

Soldiers are allowed under the emergency decree to be mobilized in quelling dissent.

Military camps can serve as makeshift prisons.

This part is way beyond absurd and is, quite frankly, chilling.
