Well, absolutely disgraceful from Crashappen and hell, the support of Red BS (and FIA rules). A 10 second penalty for clearly forcing Norris off track and killing his race - the Dire Dutchman and Red BS gain points whilst Norris and McLaren are put out..... Despicable and hence my true love for them!! :butt: :tsk:

Otherwise, Ferrari came back well, Aston Martin were poor, but Crickey - how well did Mercedes do!! :thumb:

Oh well, I wasn't doing too badly for a couple of races, but now back to true form with Wooden Spoons on the bounce... :(

Congrats to Bamboo Grove of the Yellow Cap this round, by just 0.5 points! :thumb: No change to the actual positions, but that man "Parahandy" stretches his lead yet again... :banghead:

And the Great British GP is here!! Silverstone has to be one of the fastest tracks on the F1 Circuit - fast straight-line speed needed as well as the balance of high-speed and low-speed cornering.... Tyre wear could be an issue, as could the weather - "mixed weather" (typical of the UK) is reported, though fairly cool.

There's much to be said for "Home Advantage" in many sports, but considering the UK is "Home" to the headquarters of some SIX of the ten current F1 teams, I'll take it as home of LH, Russell and Norris and hope for a cracking weekend from them!!

For those in the HHF Prediction League, don't forget (though "Parahandy" is excused for the Round :neener: ).

Good luck to all and hopefully a cracking weekend!! :thumb:

dtaai-maai wrote: Sun Jun 30, 2024 9:46 pm A race well worth watching for once, certainly the 2nd half. Norris gave it everything, then Verstappen reverted to type and took him out. The 10 sec penalty made no difference to Verstappen at all. Tosser.
I missed your comment DM - sorry... And yes, the guy is a Tosser (as is Homer) - but the FIA Rules and Regulations need looking at. Compare Crashappen to Piastri's Grid Penalty recently https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/arti ... 6Twb7Dv5lI - (Video at Link), or his "Deleted Lap" in Qualifying for the Austrian GP ultimately demoting him from the front of the Grid to P7. His demotion was down to exceeding "Track Limits" - incredibly difficult on that particular Track and quite frankly ludicrous in comparison as to what was handed out to the "Dire Dutchman".

Some websites are questioning whether or not the "racing attitudes" between Crashappen and Norris will change - personally I believe Norris will go for it even more and as Crashappen always gets away with his actions, we may see some more "bust-ups". Norris, Piastri and McLaren are starting to match if not get ahead of Red BS and the latter are concerned - their actions in the last GP clearly showed this. I'm all for hard, "elbows out" and fair racing, but Crashappen and Homer want the points and riches at all costs - a very dangerous attitude in this sport.

A couple of years ago you could have put money on LH coming out at the front of the pack but alas these days it’s far less certain- still

No question over Crashappen's ability, just his attitude (and a fair bit of favoritism/bias shown by the FIA especially for his first Championship win) - influenced by "Senior Happen"" and "Homer". Red Bull have had a "Rocket Ship" for the past few years but others are catching up - including Mercedes.

[EDIT] That said, it's realistically going to be between McLaren and Red BS IMHO - though I am holding out for Mercedes and Ferrari!! :D

LH is obviously getting towards the end of his career, but both he and Alonso can pull off some incredible moves despite being in inferior cars (at the moment). LH is heading to Ferrari, Aston Martin have recently employed the services of some incredible "Design People" so could be very interesting for Alonso next season. Both have years of experience (and driving ability) to pass on to the next generation.

Ultimately though, teams are building towards the Rule Changes in 2026. I can see Red BS losing their dominance this season and next, BUT what will 2026 bring? Just who are developing those POWER UNITS?!

Hardly the best kept secret, but truly - good luck to him! :thumb:

British Teenager Bearman Joins Haas for 2025

"Oliver Bearman will become the fourth British driver on the Formula 1 grid next season after signing to race for the US-based Haas team.

The 19-year-old, who impressed in finishing seventh on his F1 debut for Ferrari at this year’s Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, has signed what Haas calls a "multi-year contract".

"It#s hard to put into words just how much this means to me," said Bearman, who took his maiden Formula 2 victory in Austria last weekend.

"To say out loud that I will be an F1 driver for Haas makes me so immensely proud.

"To be one of the very few people who get to do the thing that they dreamed of as a child is something truly incredible.""

I'm not sure Haas is a dream team, but it's an entry and a chance for him. Who are they dropping to accommodate him?

Haas have not done that badly and are moving in the right direction - P6 and P8 in Austria, though that was not exactly "the norm". Bearman is replacing Nico Hülkenberg who's moving to Sauber, although the second seat at Haas is still not confirmed.

What's the weather going to do tomorrow for the race Pharvey. Practice #3 doesn't look too good?

It's the UK in July PeteC!! Wimbledon. The GP - what can you expect... RAIN!!

Rain for Qualifying a nigh on certainty, rain for the Main Race is a bit of a mix... Forcast is for it to be raining early in the day leading to a wet track, but it's 50/50 for rain during the MAIN Race - it'll be cool though and certainly damp. Tyre selection will truly come into it as will those who handle the wet (Qualifying)...

DAMN!! I truly wish I didn't watch Free Practice at times - it just confuses an easily confused Welshman!

Well, I didn't truly watch, more like kept my eye on it as Rugby was on!! It will be the same for Qualifying of course, but my picks are now made.... The weather is going to play a huge part, tyres, Pit Stops all going to impact.

Good luck to all aside from the obvious and obnoxious

WOW, that was one hell of a Qualifying session - Crashappen very fortunate to recover from a mistake to get out of Q1, let alone get P4 on the Grid. Awful from Ferrari with Leclerc in P11 and Sainz in P7. RB (2nds) will not be happy either, with Tsunoda in P13 and Ricardo in P15 - the latter will be desperate for the rumoured Williams seat next season. A BIG HAND :thumb: However to Hulkenberg on his P6 for Haas - a cracking lap!

The BIG news though, is it's a Mercedes 1-2, and a British 1,2,3 at the British GP (well, on the Grid at least)!! :thumb:
