Whatever came over Hua Hin this afternoon, rain making or not, is now here across the gulf and dumping buckets. I watched it on radar, then live outside as it approached from the west. I guess it picked up moisture coming in over the water.

We certainly got a heavy drenching where I live and although not as heavy now, it's still coming down. My wife is very happy as she normally gets up early in the morning to start watering the garden, so she's "excused duties" tomorrow!!

I went to lunch with a friend and just when we had finished eating and drinking and paid our bin, the bottom fell out and it started pouring. Even though our cars were only about 50 meters away we decided to open a new tab and have a couple more until it settled down to a light drizzle in about half an hour.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Forecast is a 50% chance of rain today and tomorrow-- I wonder if.

Just when I thought that your half chance of rain had passed, we've had an absolute downpour for the last hour or more with the surrounding area flooded - a bit too heavy really, but much needed.

To long time residents.
Another week with no rain, I've lost count but I think that is 3 weeks since the last real rain. Is this some kind of record for 'rainy season'?

I'd normally reckon on at least the occasional afternoon shower in August but from memory (which isn't so good these days), most rain arrives in Sept/Oct with that latter being the wettest month and having the most likelihood of decent storms.

Having been here 20 years, August is not a rainy season month here. It is in Bangkok or further north.
Lomu is spot on that October is historically the wettest month of the year followed by September. For a previous job I had to get the weather records for this area. This August has been drier in town, but out Springfield way, it has been much wetter. I have had 5 showers at my house in the last month.
Big storm out near Springfield this afternoon but it didn't make it this way.

You guys getting wet over there today? It's been raining buckets on the Rayong side for hours now.

Not a drop where I am, yesterday the forecast was for "heavy thunderstorms", this afternoon, but overnight they changed it to just cloudy and it doesn't look as though they're going to be proved wrong.
