How can I get that stupid Avast! bitch to stop popping up and yelling that the database has been updated. She's going to give me a heart attack one of these days...
I don't mind the pop-up too much, but I really need to get rid of the voice.
This is the way

Open Avast > Settings > Sounds > Uncheck "Enable Avast Sounds"

You can also disable those annoying popups, web protection and that intrusive software updater (which needs to be unchecked during the install process).

Trying to access Hua Hin Forum via Firefox I get this:
Untrusted Connection.jpg
I initially took the stupid route and chose 'I understand the risks'. After that, when accessing Hua Hin Forum I was taken to www.thaiwebhost.net . I could access the forum from a link there.

I then deleted the security certificate (stupidly created by me), and I'm back to square one i.e. www.huahinforum.com produces the above message.

How do I get back to being able to access Hua Hin Forum normally via Firefox please?

It gave an explanation, but didn't help - I guess it's time to dump Firefox

I'm on it now. Didn't like it before, and still don't like it. I'm sure I'll get used to it though. Any clues how to get a menu bar and a search box displayed?

I'm with Ginjaninja, I dumped Firefox after it began updating almost every other day to version 54787.0983 and became a bloated mess. I went to Chrome and didn't look back, it's faster, lighter and synchs seamlessly with Android.

The address bar at the top is search. What do you mean by menu bar? I'm a minimalist, I hate clutter.

As I said, I'm sure I'll work it out, but it definitely sucks compared with (yesterday's) Firefox. I can't find a decent user interface that works at the moment. I'm hitting keys and being sent somewhere that I don't want to be.

It's as customisable as FF nowadays, there's all sorts of plugins etc. You'll suss it out.

When I say search, I mean a little window where I can put in a few words and do a Google search.

By menu bar, I mean the one that normally starts File, and will include things such as Bookmarks, Tools and Help

If you want a separate toolbar for search there's a plugin, I just use the address bar at the top or open a new tab, any shortcuts you want you'll have to put them there from settings, should be a cog, top right? You start with a clean slate and add what you want.

I had issues with FF and installed Comodo Ice Dragon. It's a firefox clone and works great.
