What next?

Seems some think footballers actually have more than 6 brain cells

Sorry, 6 brain cells per team :duck:

As we haven't a League Cup thread (have we?), thought I'd ask this question here - does Wenger enter any competition with an intention of actually winning it, or is it as seems, a way to give his latest batch of youngsters a run out?

I bet the Arse fans who made the journey north on a freezing evening are well chuffed at the moment and no doubt singing his praises, as they finally arrive home in the early hours of the morning?

I guess that will be the end for Walcott?

You didn't see the game then :?

As blue said, it was a strong line up.
Bradford defended like demons & had the bit of fortune you need at times to get through a cup tie.

As for the Walcott question, he's injured :?

Yeah but......bugger, there are no buts. Difficult at times to see who were premier and who were div 2. Szezney was largely unemployed for the night except to pick the ball out of the net, badly let down by the "strikers" and Ramsey again was useless, standing around picking his nose while a Bradford player calmly walked up and took the ball off him. Wenger took the praise when Arsenal were doing well so must accept the blame now. Football moves on but his ideas, once revolutionary, are stuck in the 90`s.

I was being facetious! :D

Lets be honest here. Arsenal got exactly what they deserved = nothing!

Lots of Arsenal fans huffing and puffing all over the media today. Winterburn on Radio 5 live this morning was scathing.

But Arsene doesn't seem too fussed, so thats okay then.

caller,
Apparently David Luiz had a great game in midfield as Chelsea defeated Monterrey 3-1 in the Club World Cup in Yokohama.
Maybe midfield is where his future lies with Chelsea,do you reckon ?

Chelsea now face Corinthians of Brazil in the Final on Sunday.
Bentitez only in charge for a month and already Chelsea on the verge of their first trophy of the season !

He did indeed - I watched it as it was live on BBC HD.

But time will tell whether he carries that form on?

Certainly with JT back soon and having Cahill and Ivanivic, were secure at the back.

I'm sure I've suggested Luis as DM in the past.

Blue, not really, Everton fluctuate all over the shop, hardly progress upon progress.

Half decent side, that's all.

Fellaini is looking at a 3-match ban after his antics v Shawcross at Stoke. God knows how the referee missed all 3 incidents?

It may actually do some good and bring to a head what I perceive as referees ignoring blatant and persistent fouling by both defenders and attackers at each and every corner.

Seems to be an unwritten rule that these will be ignored, but the headbutts and fisticuffs of Fellaini today may bring that to a head, especially as they went unpunished but were all seen on camera.

Two comfortable wins for the Manchester clubs against their North Eastern rivals.
Newcastle look a shadow of the side that came 5th last season.Too good to go down ? Well, maybe, but in recent seasons both Ipswich who came 5th and Reading who came 7th have been relegated the following year.
Apart from the last 20 minutes,Sunderland were woeful against United.Any side that has Titus Bramble and John O'Shea at the heart of its defence is going to struggle.Funnily enough,Sunderland only came to life when United were 3-0 up and Vidic came on as sub.De Gea had to make a good save late on or the scoreline would have looked less comfortable than it was.
Before Campbell scored,Evra,Rooney and Van Persie had all missed good chances that would have made the scoreline more realistic.
Certainly a good week for Aston Villa,eh......... :rasta:
