Would it not be a good thing if this whole sorry episode was quietly consigned to oblivion, by which I mean the thread deleted completely?
P.
Christmas is a coming!!!!
By all means delete the thread if it makes PH, VS and Dawn happy

It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.

Just a thought
I think it also says - unmoderated and unleashed. The quoted words states SAY what you like and not SHOW what you like.
Sooo - sitting in a country where dogs are on the menu (and I'm not saying that the idea appeals to me), "edits" are applied to suit the, probably, minority, feelings and possibly the over sensitivities that are frequently encountered when applying Western 'Political Correctness'
OK so no roast lamb, chicken nuggets for some!If you can't see that the idea of a pet being eaten (whether it be dog, cat, rabbit, horse, lamb or chicken) could be upsetting for a young child,
It is not often that I follow this board now - I seem to recall that I disagreed with over opinionated (read self-opinionated) comments previously.
Yes, the title was misleading - a very valid point but:
I am truly pleased that the last quote did not offend anyone whose beliefs may be in "one God" not in "all the deities".If that's a sense of humour, I thank all the deities I don't have one
Please lighten up
Peter

Very good points but easy to say when you're not the one dealing with all of the complaints!PeteB wrote: Sooo - sitting in a country where dogs are on the menu (and I'm not saying that the idea appeals to me), "edits" are applied to suit the, probably, minority, feelings and possibly the over sensitivities that are frequently encountered when applying Western 'Political Correctness'
Anyway, welcome back Pete!

christmas
Pete and Baa Baa
I think you are missing the point. The title of a thread should relate to the content. In a sense of misplaced humor Richard created the thread. I for one would do not open threads that do not interest me. This was entitled christmas, which is supposed to be a christian celebration. I do not know of any country which is predominately christian that eats dogs.
Nobody can criticise another person for what they eat it is their custom.
The title was completely wrong had it correctly refered to the content I suspect there would have been no complaints. Richard did apologise which was good. It has nothing to do with the picture which is objectionable but placed with a correct heading I do not believe so many complaints would have occured.
Dawn was copletely correct in what she said.
The best thing could happen now is if the Mods locked the thread.

Woke up this morning breathing that's a good start to the day.
Re: christmas
It wouldnt have been half as effective if the thread was titled "Hear is a photo of a cooked dog"lindosfan1 wrote:Pete and Baa Baa

Would "Hot Dog" of been more appropriate???
I'm gonna lock this one as it is no longer relevant ... to anything really.
But will leave it with a final thought; we (the mods) had just as many complaints about the removing it as we did about the original image so at the end of the day you're fecked what ever you do.
