Only 3 - 0, with some terrible refereeing (linesman) decisions both ways. Utd were, as expected, a class above.

Jockey, see you are a pessimist!

Overall we were just not good enough and some Celtic players really have to have a good look at themselves and accept that they are not delivering (Brown and Mc Geady).

Leaving aside the two offside decisions that went against us, we were outplayed and did not threaten Utd.

Well at least there is the UEFA cup to play for.

Now for the game on Saturday and we all know what is going to happen with Derek Riordan!

I'm much more looking forward to the Parkhead game, although I can't see us winning that either, at least we'll see if Strachan can get some spirit inside the Bhoys belly's.

Jockey it will be a different game at Parkhead - I'll make sure of that!

However, Man Utd have done their job, and Villareal are just too good, and I'm afraid it is all about the UEFA cup place.

Well Chelsea got well and truly turned over tonight. Our 1-0 win against Roma 2 weeks ago was a tough one as well.

But all the plaudits tonight must be reserved for Gerrard, dive of the season, nay century and a foul to boot - yet still he gets awared the penalty!

Dontcha just love those loveable scousers - well all two of them in the Liverpool team!

Not only Chelsea. I'm glad that was not on the IKTS card.

Only Sporting Lisbon did what was expected. Here they are to save you looking:

Anorthosis Famagusta 3-3 Inter Milan
Barcelona 1-1 Basle
CFR Cluj-Napoca 1-2 Bordeaux
Liverpool 1-1 Atletico Madrid
Marseille 3-0 PSV Eindhoven
Roma 3-1 Chelsea
Sporting Lisbon 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk
Werder Bremen 0-3 Panathinaikos

I did not see any game (too late) but in the case of Chelsea it makes me wonder if there is some mischief going on. Chelsea could have wrapped up the top spot last night but instead they have left the group wide open with Roma's three away goals becoming very significant.

Chelsea still should take top spot but it is still remotely possible that they will not qualify.

I will have to get the Liverpool match from somewhere. I notice there were about 6 yellows issued to Madrid after the penalty.

Good luck to Celtic for tonight.

ADDED 09:10

I have just seen the Liverpool penalty. Certainly a foul by Gerard. The defender did well to avoid getting hurt. The clock I saw on Turkish TV showed 95 minutes.

Anybody know how much stoppage time was awarded?

4 minutes
the pen was actually awarded in the 94th min but with all the protests ( justifiable imo) the game actually went into the 97th min
it definately wasn't a pen but overall liverpool did deserve something from the game, they were by far the better team.
btw, the ref only gave it on the linesmans flag :? :D

as for chelsk? just a minor blip me thinks

A fair view IMO.

I always thought a dive was when somebody simulated contact, the kind of antics the man mountain Drogba gets upto ten times a game.

I wouldn't have given it but it certainly wasn't a dive.

I dont think Drogba has an eye problem, perhaps its acute narcolepsy.
