Think they are, well, finally got them then. HA ha ha, always made me laugh, that story.
Looked it up and seems spelled with only 1 P. Here's the web site. A few flew over U-Tapao down here during Cobra Gold so seems they have been taking delivery. I think the chicken for planes deal may have been for the Russian MIGs Taksin wanted but never happened? Pete

Agree, and they can do it easily if so desired, I think.
If the Cambodians have kicked-off first then they should be shown the errors of their impertinence and nationalism. Situation solved in a day or two, end of problem.
Words fail me when I try to describe the bloody stupidity of those who want to settle disputes like this with wars, cant they see the only ones who win wars are those who make the munitions.
This one has a perfect solution which involves no loss of face on either side in fact it would bring international praise.
The whole disputed area should be made a world heritage site with the Thai border on one side and the Cambodian on the other. It would be administered jointly by both countries. Over time it would be developed as a major tourist attraction by bringing the whole area back to jungle consentrating on re-establishing endangered or rare plants and animals (not the kind that eat people). There would be tourist trails with locals trained as guides. and much more
The people who live there would be given a special world heritage ID card that allowed them to travel freely into both countries through the check points that would be set up on both borders. There would be plenty of work for those who lived in the area, much higher paid I am sure they are getting now.
This would attract funding from all directions and and would be a money maker for both countries from tourists wanting to go there.
If anyone would listen I would do them a comprehensive plan but I cant ever see it. Instead they will fight and all sides will lose even more than they already have done. Lunacy at its best.
Great concept robby but I can't see it happening until the in-ground nationalistic brainwashing and mendacity present in both countries is removed from their education system.
There is a good bit of background and possible scenarios here:
