I've lived here for 3 years and my worst complaint is about the service or the lack of it there of.
That and the attitude!! And they laugh at you when you complain about something not getting done.
I just came back from Vietnam and I was really surprised (pleasantly) about the attitude and education requirements there.
Talking to a lot of the university students. English is a required subject for graduating.
And that it's needed if they want to do business with anyone outside their own country and in country also.

Photo...I realized the same thing when I was in Hanoi. 100's of uni students around the lake looking for foreigners to practice speaking English. For the most part, English language doesn't carry the same sense of importance in Thailand.attitude and education

It's the same here. All university students have to pass English I and English II which is the first two terms of their studies. I guess the difference may be in their schooling - most Thai students who have had Thai teachers teach them English, have been told to sit down and shut up. Conversation is certainly not encouraged, and grammar is god. If you can't speak perfect English, then don't say anything.pfotoguy369 wrote:Talking to a lot of the university students. I'd love to visit Vietnam, and seeing your pics and write-up has whetted my appetite. Thank you.
