Some good points raised that I d overlooked!

Maybe 50K pcm would be OK? I have a good lady and the days of hitting the bars are long gone! When I stay we eat and drink cheap and just do the farang resturants once / twice a week.

I think the main factor is the exchange rate. When I bought my house it was nearly 70 to the pound. Now it hovers round the 50 mark. Im no economist but I feel that it will recover to mid / late 50 s at some stage. But who knows when? No guarantees!

If and when this happens and my 50K becomes 60K then I would feel better with the sitaution. The emeregencies / health bills / car/ house repairs etc always come when you least expect!

The point about being married into the Thai system is crucial and could easily swallow up any savings that you have!!

I guess its all about life style and choice and keeping yourself occcuppied and not waisting your money!
