Hi

Thank you again for all of your fab advice. I'm going to print out what you've said about VISAs and take some time reading and digesting it. I'll hit the VISA forum if I've still got concerns after that. Some of you mentioned Hull and I wondered if that would be the best way to arrange VISAs rather than pay a firm in Thailand? I've spoken to Siam Legal who can arrange them and they seem quite reasonable but Hull isn't too far from us!!

Did any of you guys take pets? One of our big debates at home at the moment is our dogs. On the one hand, we couldn't bear to be without them but on the other we're not sure whether a lifestyle in Thailand would suit them. We're thinking of the heat but also if we, like some of you, decide to travel around every few months (whether VISA related or not!) what do we do with them? It would be a shame not to be able to explore such a fabulous area so cheaply. We're also not sure how the Thai culture is towards dogs and can't seem to recall seeing an awful lot of them on our last visit (though we weren't paying that much attention it has to be said!).

Thank you for all your help so far. We really appreciate it. (Beers are on us in November!)

Betty-Boop,
You'll get your visas without any problem from Hull. You don't need a firm of Thai lawyers doing that for you.
If you feel that you need Thai lawyers over here to get extensions to those visas, then fair enough as long as you qualify. But the process is easy and you'll get all the information you need on this forum board to be successful with your application - for free.
If you're thinking about buying a house or working over here, then a lawyer's advice might be preferable. I'm not qualified to respond on those matters, but other members are.

Betty Boop.

You will find more dogs here than you can shake (or throw) a stick at.

I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.

Thanks Lomuamart! Appreciate that, the less money we spend on lawyers the more money we get to live on once we get there so that really helps! I'm hoping to get a job teaching and will probably try and get one before I get there (more peace of mind for me to be honest).

I've found one website that had jobs but not much in Hua Hin. Any ideas as to the best way to go about it?

Thanks again! :sun:
