For insurance purposes the Arabs had a simple solution when hitting Camels or Donkeys, during the day it's the drivers fault, night time the animals.

A friend of mine in Dubai killed a Donkey at night with his Mercedes, made a right mess of the car. Once the police completed the paperwork they asked if he wanted to take the dead Donkey home, apparently very tasty when barbecued :cheers: . Needless to say he declined.
