I live in Wales :) I forgot that the rest had to pay! It used to be £5. I think Wales should pay the NHS is awful in Wales, really bad. The money then could go towards upgrading the hospitals! I would prefer to be left to my own devices and select my doctor and pay for my medication. I lived for a while in Australia and we used to join something called Medicare where we paid a percentage. I am hoping that with the Thai lifestyle and diet I will get off most of the medication I am on. Get fitter is the answer! Thanks for reminding me. Happy Easter Siani

All of this sounds familiar, like the new health care package forced upon the American populace by the current administration and congress. When I lived in the U.S., I was never rich but always had adequate health care. This change is just a huge government takeover of a large part of the national product which is never good. If you give people more, it just takes away their incentive to work. I worked all my life and always had good health insurance... and me a mere high school graduate... anything is (was) possible in the U.S.A. (for anyone willing to work for it) before the nanny state took over.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

good to know that i can get hold of something if i need to. I have use may things to keep my inhaler safe and to hand. From modifying the case to have a belt clip on the back. the use of the a mobile phone case and stick on clips and phone belt pouches.

Never lost one yet, but have broken a few, and as they change the design of them, i have got sand in the working of one so they not turn to the next dose. water logged one , some one has sat on one, that was still on my belt.

The pre pay does work out ok cheaper if like me you need 3 to 4 items per month. If you get more than one of the same item you only pay £7ish once, but most doctors i have seen are not so happy to give you more than one per month as they like to check you are not using them to much this may not be the same for all the meds

I not have to worry so much now about keeping the spare to hand, will take a copy of the prescription with me, that a good idea too.

Yes, good idea. I will have a blood test for diabetes every 6 months, but do not think that will be too costly. I am only on tabs for it, so hope to give those up and get a bit fitter. I love swimming, so hopefully I will get a new lease of life! I am not exactly "old", my attitude is young and I have loads of interests...so there is hope for me yet!! :) Thanks Siani[/color]

There hope for us all
I just started the gym 6 months ago and i feel a lot better , i not really into the water, not liking swimming , i get bored with it , still not sure i float. Holding my breath was never a good thing for me, was i told if you don't , breathing in water is not something you can do for very long.
There is a saying you are only as old as the lady you are with.

I know you can get self test kits for diabetes which are not costly in the long run. friend of mine has one.

If you are in Hua hin now enjoy and relax , if not you got lot to look forward to.

stay well

Yes I have a monitor for diabetes, just need to buy the strips. With exercise it is important to enjoy whatever you choose to do. some like swimming, walking, golf etc...whatever is not a drudge.

I have an old saying which I tell my husband of 44 years (OMG ...a lifetime) "Don't throw away the old bucket until you know whether the new one holds water!"

He replies "The woman cries before the wedding and the man after!"
