Although Sick Note has been with the club for well over a season, because he has been so injury prone, I saw him play for the first time last night. My verdict is that the Green Army have a decent striker at last.

However, I do have one criticsm - he's too good for the 3rd tier of English football. You could easily see that he was a class above his team mates, and his superior footballing brain often made him look clumsy. It wasn't clumsiness, it was his team mates' inability to read the game so fast. In the Premiership football is played that much faster, and some of his magical touches would have been converted into a greater degree of success.

His speed in front of goal was a major advantage, and providing he manages to keep off of the injury list, he will help the Green Army to success.

4 goals in 4 games - looking good. Can he do it at Home Park? :?

Another sad day for me http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/news/Ar ... ticle.html .

With football's equivalent of Satan (Risdale) being approached to form a rescue plan, I don't hold out much hope.

Japanese ba**ards - selling the real estate (Home Park) to themselves, and then letting the football team fail. Words fail me :cuss:

That's all sad news, which I hope the players don't read. Go out and play football lads and F the rest. How you perform now under adversity is surely being watched. :( Pete

Bloody Hell BB!

I hope that doesn't happen mate.

As you know, my club were weeks away from Admin, I was following the boardroom shit more than the football but it's harder for clubs of PAFCs size.

Hope it sorts itself out though!

What the hells the 46k ground bit about though? That's the same size Anfield!

It's part of the Japanese plan for the World Cup. A very significant part the plan is the building of hotels, shopping malls etc. Football is the Japanese disguise for obtaining planning permission to turn a prime piece of Plymouth parkland (which they sold to themselves at a knock down price) into a very commercial site, which they should be able to sell on at a massive profit.

If the sideshow of a 46,000 capacity actually goes ahead, it'll be a very lonely place after the World Cup.

You're telling me.

What's your ground capacity and average gates at the moment?

Ground capacity is around the 20K mark, and gate have dropped to around the 5K mark. However, sucess even in League 1 would see crowds regularly rise to 15 to 20K.

Ridiculous decision upping the ground to that capacity though.

People on the LFC forums were moaning about leaving Anfield, saying we need to keep the atmosphere, we'd fill a 65k stadium for 50% of the matches though. PAFC would half fill 1 stand.

I kinda keep my eye on their results now!

I hope the worst doesn't happen mate, keep us informed.

As I said, development of the football ground on the back of the World Cup is just a smokescreen to obtain planning permission to develop a large area of Plymouth's premier park.

Yes, I'd read that http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/news/Ar ... ticle.html .

The comments at the end of the piece are interesting, mainly true and bloody depressing.

The Green Army were given a 63 day stay of execution.
http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/news/Hi ... ticle.html

It doesn't look good:

- Need to sell players. Trouble is that they've been trying to offload some of Sturrock's 'wee gems' for about 2 seasons. They are only Scottish Premier League standard, so nobody wants them. :duck:

- Somebody wants to buy some real estate for £5.75M - that must be Home Park, which was valued at £8.5M a year ago. That must be somebody trying to make a killing out of the club's demise. Probably Tesco or Sainsburys.

- Somebody wants to invest £500,000 - that won't even keep the taxman happy.

- Relying on this week's gate money :? With crowds down to 2.5K below the season ticket sales, it's debatable how much money will be taken at the turnstiles.

- I could go on, but it's depressing.

Things are still looking really grim for the Green Army. They've managed to sell enough players to survive a couple of winding up orders. They've got until early next month to find another £760K - they claim to have £500K already, and still need to find another £260K.

The Japanese sugar daddies :? :banghead: aint parting with a single Yen. Now there's not going to be a World Cup, which would have attracted huge grants to develop Home Park into a 46,000 seater wilderness, with a massive shopping mall/accomodation centre outside, they have no interest whatsoever.

So what options are currently open to get them to the end of this season?

- Sell Bradly Wright-Phillips (£300 K) - currently Charlton, Barnsley and Glasgow Rangers are chasing him. He is far too good for any of those second rate teams (as he is for the Green Army), but the money is needed now. Only £300K you may ask - basically the vultures are circling.

- Sell our World Cup centre forward, Rory Fallon. After rave reviews from the World Cup, nobody wants him.

- Sell any one of half a dozen other highly rated players - quickly.

Whatever happens, it needs to happen by early next week. The Green Army have not been able to put out a full team for several weeks now (after already having held a fire sale) - today, they are battling against Charlton, a player short.

The plan is get the taxman's by whatever means possible. Have the transfer embargo lifted. Then re-build the team with loanees until the end of the season - Peter Reid already has players from Chelsea, Man City plus at least one other Premiership side waiting to join the ranks of the Green Army.

Who knows, we might still make the play-offs :D .

Bradley Wright-Phillips has been transferred to Charlton, Strange move for him I have seen him play and he should be in a higher division.
Woke up this morning breathing that's a good start to the day.

:agree: He's punching well below his weight in the Third Division. He was far too good for the Plymouth side. The problem is that he has a very dodgy (beyond repair) knee, which makes him a very high risk.
