I'm new to Hua Hin and would also like to find some photo nuts to help discover the area better and help with ideas. If anyone wants to go out shooting give me a call, I'm retired and free most of the time. John 0806259467.

Hi Hua Hin Photo Buffs,

I am a professional photographer based in Bangkok but shoot all over SE Asia. I shoot & write for several magazines & some commercial clients and believe it or not, I shoot most of my work with compact cameras instead of digital SLR's. There are a few main reasons for this:

1. the type of photos I take usually do not require an SLR &
2. a digital compact actually give me more advantages than an SLR for many my commercial photos - mainly underwater...
3. SLR's are just too clunky to carry around most of the time on land!...& without our tool, we simply cannot be photographers!

The fact is that great photos are a resultant of 60-70% composition & the rest technique, skill, lighting & sometimes a little bit of luck. This is just my opinion which over 2 dozen of my photos awarded internationally can testify to... as ALL are shot with digital compact cameras.

Anyway, I will be in Hua Hin for a few days & I'm wondering if anyone here in Hua Hin would be interested in my photography workshops which have been run all around SE Asia.

...with the shortest workshop for land photographers being only a couple hours & with workshops ranging from shooting, workflow, managing to post-processing & editing. Click here to see the workshops details:

I will check back here to see the response as my internet is limited, but you can also contact me directly at:

I can do group or 1-on-1 sessions...all depends on you guys...so feel free to contact me with any questions.

Cheers,
Alex

Hi everyone,

I already have someone in ChaAm who has asked for a workshop to understand shooting "Full Manual Mode" where one controls both aperture & shutter.

This workshop is a special request & not on my Workshop Page online...it is part of my Strobe workshop though.

Usually it takes no more than 30mins for a small group to learn this and overall with some extras like shooting indoors, night scenes, etc once Full Manual is mastered this would be about 1-2 hours total depending on the group size.

Is there anyone else who would be interested in this?

Cheers,
Alex
