When I first moved here a neighbor told me I should go to Bumrungrad's wellness clinic where they would run extensive tests that include vitamin and mineral content in your body. Then they would calculate a specific vitamin/mineral regimen tailored for each individual. They sold this service in a one year contract where they would perform the tests and adjust your supplements every three months and a one year subscription was around 100k baht eight years ago.

I wasn't willing to spend the money but this guy claimed he felt great (while before he was feeling tired and run down all the time) and had the energy of a much younger man after signing up and taking the supplements for a while.

I just looked it up and they are still doing it, plus more:

Looks like the price has actually gone down. Now they are pricing it on a per visit and vitamin supply cost so if you did five visits (every 3 months for a year like the package before) it would cost around 75k now.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

There is a strange paradox about Vitamin consumption--- people who generally eat well and probably dont need Vit supplements take them. Those who by habit or poverty eat badly do not take them.

Countries in which there is severe malnutrition have very few Vit supplements given to them.

Its rather like the rich get richer annd the poor get poorer--all over again.

What do I take--1 Fish oil capsule and one Niacin 250mg daily--- a 'natural' approach to raised Cholesterol.

Like it, Dr Mike. :thumb:

The rise in arteriosclerosis and heart disease in the west apparently mirrored the introduction of industrialized oils. I avoid them where possible and use organic, cold-pressed coconut, sesame and olive oil, which you can buy in bulk to keep the price down.

Omega 3 I get from fish oil, sardines and mackerel. Flax seed (linseed) oil is another source.

I've had good feedback from friends about Niacin. Do you source yours from within Thailand?
