Thanks Ken, what would it cost if you bought it elsewhere?

My wifes mother ( in Roi-et) has been suffering bouts of shingles and there in no local
doctor or pharmacy

When I found out I enquired why none of her other children ( two of whom live in Bangkok )
have thought to get these tables and mail them to her ? ......no answer to that

Having read about the South East Pharmacy here and at other Thai Forums I decided to approach them first so I do not really know what the cost would have been elsewhere

I buy my heart medication from South East Pharmacy at Baht 800 per box. In Hua Hin's Bangkok Hospital it cost Baht 1,500 and in a Hua Hin pharmacy it is Baht 1,200.

I think this is already a well publicised fact that Bangkok Hospital have a large mark up on medication.

My wife was supplied 3 months medication by Bangkok Hospital last week for 1700 Baht. A friend was travelling to Bangkok the next day, and a further year's medication (exact same bubble packs and markings) from a Bangkok pharmacy (not South East Pharmacy) cost less than 500 Baht. That equates to Bangkok Hospital charging over the 13 times the standard retail price. Quite a mark up for a bit of air conditioning and a soft seat.
