^^ Yes and no, but this was Market Village - he may have been outside the restaurant/cafe/whatever, but he was still inside the shopping mall complex.

Shows how often I go to Market Village!

So what's all the fuss about then? The reaction was totally OTT, but I take the Doc's point...

Maybe the guy was just having a bad day?

Yesterday I was at MV and when I went to the toilet, a well dressed Thai, nice clothes, plenty of gold, etc, etc, etc snorted the snot out of his nose and spat it on the floor even though he could have spat it into the urinal he was using. Peeing into the urinal, but leans over to spit his snot only the floor. Just shows you, money can buy a lot of things, but it can't buy class. In a way, he is worse that the Farang who spat on the table.

Accept it people, we share this planet with animals, and yes, to the Thai who spat on the floor.......you are an animal, as is the idiot who spat on the table.

You have been rather quiet Mr Ting Tong since posting the OP, and not that it makes that much difference, it would be interesting to know whether it was it a Thai or a farang who committed the act?

Thai or farang, its irrelevant. The fact remains, they should be ashamed of themselves and their actions. :tsk:

As far as I know you are allowed to smoke outside the main air-con MV and other air-con shops on the forecourt

When I was a smoker I always asked if it was OK and invariably was brought an ashtray

However his behaviour was downright rude. I have been asked when smoking by people sitting close if I would move so the smoke drifted in another direction. I always obliged if it was a polite request

I believe these types are described by the local as 'Farang key-nok', sure most of you that speak some Thai know what that means.

It is embarrassing, as we all get lumped into the same group with these arseholes by the locals in many quarters.

May they encounter enough problems to leave and not come back......hopefully. :|

Bird Shit Foreigner. An undesirable, the types that have actually gone out of their way to look like a "traveller" although they're on a 2 week jaunt instantly get labelled with it.

Thais use "kee" for alot of things. An Ashtray for example is Kee Kia Buri. Basically, Cigarette shit bin.

Don't get too upset about it though. You will be surprised how much it's said as a passing comment. Just turn a blind eye is the best thing to do.

Baabaa: I think the Thai word for an ashtray is Tii Kia Buri - not 'Kee'.

Unless, which is certainly possible, I've been pronouncing it incorrectly for over a decade.

I certainly hope Baa Baa's wrong on this one. :D

:agree: with VS - But then again, for a long time I used to think 'lazy' was tee-kiat instead of kee-kiat (which I don't think has anything to do with shit!)
