Went there on Wednesday night.

They didn't have any of the beef or vegetarian dishes available which limited the choice on an already pretty small menu. The food took really, really long to arrive. When it did arrive it was pretty good, though it would have been nicer to have had the dishes we ordered, as opposed to the ones that came! We ordered 1 samosa, 1 starter/side dish, 3 curries, 2 naan breads, 2 rice and one roti bread. We got the samosa, 2 starter/side dishes 2 curries - one of which was incorrect and one which was pretty much a last resort as everything else we'd tried to order was unavailable. The rice came but the bread didn't. Eventually we questioned if another curry was coming, we were told no. We asked about the bread and the girl asked us if the poppadoms which came at the beginning of the meal were not naan bread (!). It wasn't made clear to us if they were planning to bring the bread or not. Eventually 2 roti breads arrived, but no naan.

When the bill came, the curry that didn't arrive was listed on the bill, and the starter/side that we didn't order was. We explained that to them and after an awful long time the revised bill came. Turns out maybe we should have kept quiet as the starter that we didn't order was in fact more expensive than the curry that didn't arrive, so the bill had in fact gone up by 25bt.

By this time a lady who looked like she was in charge had shown up, and to be fair we were asked if everything was OK. My girlfriend explained about the wrong dishes coming and the naan bread never arriving and they were very apologetic and gave us a discount of 25bt - which brought the price back down to what it would have been if we'd never mentioned anything in the first place.

There were 2 other tables there and we could here one table complaining amongst themselves that it was a disappointment. Out of curiosity we asked the remaining table how their meal was as we left. They said they had no real complaints and other than the food took a long time to arrive they were completely satisfied.

I'm guessing they had been let down by staff on that occasion, as the girl who served us did look extremely confused the whole time so possibly she was just helping out but nevertheless, the whole experience was somewhat daunting! They might not also be used to being so busy on a Wednesday night as the other couple of times we've been there for drinks, it's been pretty quiet.

Had it been a middle-of-town, or down-back-of-a-soi kind of place then I wouldn't entertain the prospect of going again. However the location is fantastic, and the reviews here up until now have been very good so we may try it again some time.

Hi Pleng,

I think your right, it sounds like maybe someone didnt turn up for work that evening, it takes very little to affect the running of a business here. I can only say that everytime I have been the food has taken the right time for being freshly prepared and I have found the prices to be very very reasonable.
I plan to go early eveing for a small snack so will see if anything has changed.

Cheers,

JW

Is it the same menu as Thank You? Same people operating it if I am not mistaken.

Went last Sunday, eight of us. The Thai ladies taking the orders have got no idea about what food is what and look as miserable as sin (Land of Scowls). No idea when giving out a Chicken Tikka from a buttered chicken curry which is which. Breads arrived when the curries were nearly eaten. Some breads didn't arrive, some curries didn't arrive and some curries came twice. Bill was all up the kyber pass without a paddle which took some working out and caused Sunday stress. The indian guy needs to take the orders, cook the food and waiter the food.

Nan's about half the size of what I'm used too. They will fall by the wayside if they don't improve. The Thia girls need to get a handle on the menu. Nice location, Service shite, food nice not great!

Interestingly one of the curries we ordered was a Buttered Chicken, but it was a Tikka that arrived.

Did I not read somewhere that the Chef, Sam, had gone back to India on a holiday?
If so, he had better hurry back if he wants to keep his good reputation.
We went there a week ago. Food was only so so.. Not up to previous standard. Seem to be a Thai cook behind the scene. Samosas arrived with lumps of ice inside. Was promptly replaced (or should I say, reheated).

Read about this place on HHAD over the last few weeks. Can agree with all the previous comments. Went there last night on first night back in Hua Hin. The buffet night was great. Bingo was a bit of a mess but darling wife won the full house so will be going for another meal within the week free. A real bargain.

Forgot about that, the samosas I had where ice cold in the middle and the pastry was like rock. I really would like this place to work as the location is great especially if you have kids.

the brakes are most definatley on re this place, went there tonight and it was average to poor

service was fine as was only me and a table of 3 in the place, so no real waiting around

The food was well below standard (read shite).

I only had chicken tikka masala and a plain naan

The Naan was so thin and tasteless is was worthless, the tikka masala blew my mouth out.

I have eaten tikka massala on at least 4 continent and never before have I had it as spicy as was served tonight, my mouth is still burning over an hour later

Until the Indians get back I am giving this place a wide berth

we had 6 people there on monday night. great location. questionable food, questionable service. first time i had been there. only 2 other tables occupied.

appears to be no indian experience in the staff. when i asked about saag aloo, it was a complete blank. when i said spinach with potato there was no recognition.

is it heading the same way as take 5 that used to be over the road ? same people ?
