Re: Tropical fish store?
Ok I checked out the fish store on soi 88. Thanks for the directions Nokyai. I didnt find it very welcoming I'm afraid. It was very dark but things seemed clean and well kept. Just not a lot of stock or much variety. Lots of small guppy type fish and about a dozen koi. Anyway, I didnt find what I wanted.
I was not able to find the other shop mentioned by Chaspul. Going south from where? I thought it might be where the animal hospital is located but didnt see it there. I also couldnt see any sign of the T junction or 3218 so maybe this was the wrong spot entirely. Anyone able to help me pinpoint this shop?

Canal road runs basically N - S and at S end junctions with 3218. (Soi 70 to elephant village road). Going S shortly before this junction. It took me two tries to find it.
Open air market has green barriers when vacant. Shop is single frontage next to a small store and has cages outside.
Doubt if they will have what you want in stock but will obtain from BK, picture is worth a thousand words.
Or why not a trip to the weekend market in BK, you could spend a whole day looking around the fish area, its so massive?

Seems like Chaspul means the pet shop at Pae Mai at the start of the canal road.

Re: Tropical fish store?
Just bumping up this thread. In search of a fish store again an wondering what is available these days in Hua Hin. I also need something to control the slimy green algae in my fish pond. I just removed a large bucket of the stuff!! Thanks for any info.
Re: Tropical fish store?
It would be helpful if people specified marine or tropical. I used to keep and breed tropical (freshwater) but these are more simple than marine!

Re: Tropical fish store?
I went today for my usual stock up to the pet shop at Pai Mai and it is gone. Does anyone know where they moved too?

That is why I bumped up this thread. . .tropical fish stores/ pet stores seem to pop up and then fold with great regularity here.

There is (or was) a sign on the door. The shop moved up the Hua Hin - Huay Mongkol Road a bit. It's now directly opposite Hua Hin School.HHCanuck wrote:I went today for my usual stock up to the pet shop at Pai Mai and it is gone. Does anyone know where they moved too?

TIT - it's not just tropical fish stores, its most businesses in Hua Hin. Some survive, but many businesses fold or change hands within a year. I've worked of the forum's bar maps for a few years, and the number of changes are unbelievable.LolaBeltran wrote: ↑Fri Aug 24, 2018 7:55 am That is why I bumped up this thread. . .tropical fish stores/ pet stores seem to pop up and then fold with great regularity here.
Same old thing all of the time. Somebody opens a business, and makes a success. Eventually a dozen businesses will open up taking a slice of the same pie. The pie just isn't big enough , and we end up with crumbs rather than slices.
Anyway, this is about tropical fish , so - sorry guys.

Re: Tropical fish store?
An eternal question it seems. In a town this size, with all these condos and retirees . . .no tropical fish store that lasts more than 6 months. Soooo what's the latest? Anybody know of a store in Hua Hin that sells tropical fish and supplies such as pumps, tanks etc. Grand Night Market used to have a stall with limited supplies and fish. Still there?
Re: Tropical fish store?
The shop I mentioned a few posts earlier in the thread is still there. It has fish and related equipment.
Re: Tropical fish store?
Also the one I mention on Mon Jun 19, 2017 8:43 pm is still open.

Re: Tropical fish store?
I think I tried to find the one on Huay Mongkol Road a while ago without success. Let me try again. Opposite Hua Hin high school right? Thanks for the reply.
I remember one being next to the G Supermarket . ..opposite the turn heading to the canal road. But that isnt there any more. . . I never went as far as the bend at the top of the hill. I will also give this one a shot. Thanks for the reply!
