It will be interesting to watch what happens in Laos, its Chinese money. Chinese know-how--hopefully chinese efficiency too. Could be a model.

So you'll obviously be aware of the safety concerns and the number of people (including the transport minister) up on corruption charges with regards to the high speed trains and network.

That said, I've traveled various routes on numerous occasions and can't fail to be impressed. Just hope I don't suffer the consequences of any shoddy material/equipment one day.........

The comments here are exactly what I was thinking of when I decided to post it,, :thumb: ....If, and a very big IF, it does go ahead its virtually impossible to route it through Hua Hin even now, lord knows what HH will be like in 10 or 20 yrs time. Look at the building work being thrown up now beside the track. My concerns were that we live on the west side of town in an area that would make sense to have a new line. Anyway, got us talking didn't it. 8) GN
