I am told the 30 baht scheme only applies in your local area. If you move to another area, you may not be eligible. You might wish to check this.

My wife has recently registered for this, and she was told that is valid for Hua Hin Hospital only.

BB as far as i know that is correct

As for local area my understanding is you have to register in the area of your Tabien Bahn but if you move or go to another jurisdiction you have to re register.

I could be wrong about this but I don't think that 30 baht scheme is automatic for Thais. I think you have to apply or register and obtain some sort of health ID card to show at the hospital. My MIL uses it and it is true that it only covers care from your local government hospital.

So first, she would have to register her home address (house paper, Thai ID, Blue Book or whatever) to identify her home address, then apply for the 30 baht scheme using that address. We ran into a problem when my wife went to register as her house paper still had her in her Issan village.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

I know a couple years back friends of my MIL flew over specifically to sign up for some type of medical program, but it was 500 baht. Maybe some type of Thai expat program

Please do not smoke, I know we all wrote about it a while back. Time to be strong about it. Just be strong, it's hard but you can do it. Speedy recovery :)

I used to smoke a pack or more a day,
you actually have to have strong lungs to smoke that much.People with a small lung capacity just can't continue.
Most smokers are strong willed, because they refuse to give up.
What actually worked for me was, realizing i was a drug addict and thats why i smoked,i was addicted to nicotine.
I always thought myself as being reasonably intelligient and not easily taken for a fool,
but geez the biggest suckers game is continuing to smoke...i was certainly played for a fool for too long.
Its 2 years as a non smoker and i never have the urge
So come on sarge you seem like a reasonably intelligient bloke..don't get played for a sucker any longer
Hope to see you back on the bike again next friday......
