Well I guess that depends on when he made the arrangement and how quickly he is likely to get through 40k

The mid-market rate was hovering between 42 and 45 for a good year or so; it's only recently come back up to the mid 50s, so he may well have been quids in, averaged out...
He's only lived here about 4 months and going by my mathematics, he's already down by about 240,000!

Loumart. When I used to use my UK debit card, I always went into the bank with my passport to avoid the 150 baht fee.

Ah yea; if he's only been here a while he, on the face of things, has lost out pretty heavily.

Still it's always a gamble, whichever way you go. 6 months ago if somebody had offered me a fixed amount of 48bt to the pound I'd have had to seriously consider it
