Hmmm.... not a lot of managerial experience, and a bit of a chequered past. Rejected for management roles with a couple of UK sides. He's got to learn somewhere I suppose.

Looks like Lamptey is going to Chiang Mai FC according to my wife`s translation. I am gutted as he is by far our best player. I did say at the end of last season that we will have to try and keep our best players for the next campaign. I wish him well in the next chapter of his career and I am sure he will be grateful to Hua Hin for giving him this opportunity. He will be sorely missed and I hope now that strenuous efforts will be made to get a suitable replacement for him.

Lampty not a done deal yet, although he has written on his Facebook that he is going back to Chiang Mai, so it sounds very likely. When Smm Sport contacted him though, he said he was in negotiations with 2 clubs....

I would be surprised if Hua Hin don't offer him an improved contract to stay, money wise I'd be surprised if he'll get any more up there.... I guess it is a step up for him to Div.1 though, plus he played for them previously and sounds like he's still got a lot of friends there.

Wonder if he'd be leaving had we secured promotion?? Would be a shame to see him go. Fingers crossed we can find a good replacement....

I think it could be the new boss etc who is planning on bringing in new foreigners. If as we suspect the nember of foreign players is limited, maybe he sees first team chances being very limited.

Well, I was being nosey and had a look at Lamptey's Facebook page.... It would seem he's known for a couple of months now! He made a post back on November 10th alluding to the fact he was going back to Chiang Mai!

If the 10th November date is correct Hua Hin were in the middle of the Champions League debacle and any talk of him leaving would be totally out of order as he would still be contracted to HHFC. But hey, this is thailand after all and nothing surprises me anymore. He was our best player and the first name on our team sheet and he could walk into most Division 1 teams - I rated him that highly - and I am sure HHFC would have offered him the world to stay had we got promoted. By the way, Steve Gerrard is looking for a fresh challenge after his contract at Liverpool runs out in the summer!!

I am sure a new manager would like to assess his playing squad before deciding who comes and who goes - unless you are Louis Van Gaal - before spending every last penny that the club has in the bank. Nolberto Solano does not have that luxury, or the experience anyway, so I would think the owners would have been putting the feelers out to see who is likely to be available. It will be very interesting over the next few weeks and months to see exactly what does happen. My problem is always going to be the Bing translation of the transfer deals in and out, so I will be most grateful if someone can translate it into proper English for the hard of understanding!! Does anyone know how the building work is going on the new stadium and will it be ready for the new season? Getting goosebumps already!!

It's strange that he's been putting anything on his personal Facebook at all with regards signing for another club, at least not until it's all finalised. Even worse that, as you say, he's done so at such an important stage of the season!

I'm slightly worried that Solano won't have a lot of time to get familiar with things before getting down to business as well... I wonder if the departing coach will still be helping out during the transition, he's left on good terms and will still be involved with the club to an extent apparently.

Not heard anything more on the stadium since the last announcement saying it would be completed mid-January, in time for the new season, so as far as I'm aware that's still the case....

Mrs BB asked the Chairman (who made the January announcement), and he told her, with a smile, that it was a long way off yet.

Don't forget, we were told about bringing in foreign players before we knew about Solado. It'll be interesting to find out if the foreign players were his doing as part of his negotiations. Whoever they are, they can't be that good coming for 18,000 Baht/month. Or will they command greater wages, potentially causing friction in the dressing room?

I cannot imagine that he knows of that many players that would be willing to take a gamble and play in the Thai 2nd Division. He was playing at Hartlepool until 2009 and has since been overlooked for the manager jobs at Hartlepool and also Motherwell, so I think his knowledge of players would be fairly limited. From my knowledge there have only been a handful of UK players that have come over here in the first place and when they do they are likely to be in the twilight of their careers. I would imagine HHCFC will be looking for much younger players with some experience and they will be hard to find and even harder to sign up. We could even find that HHCFC could be used as a feeder club to bring on some younger players and it could be that the new investors have some contacts in the UK or wherever. It is going to be such an interesting couple of months!!

I just hope they don't believe money guarantees success. How many years did it take the likes of Chelsea?
