Over 20,000 gun deaths this year, 20,000+++ gun injuries and higher homicide rates says the Uk is a more law abiding, civilised country than the US.
I don't trust children. They're here to replace us.

Gentlemen, this thread is about a criminal being caught in Hua Hin.

If you need to discuss gun or knife crime elsewhere in the world, or where is safest in the world, we already have threads in Current Affairs. Further posts about the rest of the world on this thread will be deleted.

I wonder who it might be? Maybe it is a person someone in the Forum knows? I know we cannot name him, but if he has stayed here for several years he must have had some income from somewhere or something. I don't think it could have been from the US since they would have caught him sooner if that was the case. Anyone knows more than what has come out so far?

Wow, yank bashing......seems the norm on forums.....555

"In September 2019, the US heard the news that Derick has traveled into Thailand since September of 2014"

Maybe that's how they caught him, tracking his money, since not notifying Thailand till this year, even though a warrant probably issued in 2014. How easy to track his passport movement. Obviously a low priority.

Reads more like they weren't looking very hard, and someone dime'd him out....555

Seems a bit lax getting around to an Interpol warrant, Thai track down. Though not exactly making the 'terrorist' list, and seems more like a drunk, vocal trouble maker. Possessions of explosives could be anything, simple firecracker, and maybe he made a 'bomb threat' to Pizza Hut for not honoring free delivery in less than 30 minutes....555

'Derick' was/is well known to many in Hua Hin (under his alias, of course). He used to openly offer his (new) services on local Facebook pages. His main income was from within the kingdom - he had several irons in the fire. Personally, I met him a couple of times, and he always came across as an alright guy.

I would most certainly not put him in the, "drunk, vocal trouble maker" category.

It just shows how you never know who you are talking to in Hua Hin.

Same here- met him once or twice, know a few people that know him fairly well and never heard a bad word, quite the opposite in fact.
Who knows how true anything we read in the media is these days - he must be in the sh1t for a reason, (and possibly more likely 'dimed out' than tracked down via an international hunt using bio-metrics), but now they can say whatever they want to make an example out of him.

Maybe keeping a low profile when here, and or simply 2 alphas banging heads in the states, and one nit picked some legalities. Or a total wank, and wised up once away from the long arm of the law. Needing to keep a low profile. Who knows ....

Yea never know, people you didn't grow up with, as we really don't know who our fellow expats really are, as short exposure to them and just socially, and occasionally at that.

Definitely can't believe anything in the news, or what a Gov't agency says, states. Obviously they weren't looking very hard to find him.

Possessions of explosives could be anything
Reminds me of some years ago whilst waiting for some personal effects, I received a notice from customs - 'A number of explosive devices have been confiscated'. Worried the hell out of my shipping agents.

What were they? ........ Party Poppers!
