This gets weird now, but makes for a good story. Those who have lived in Hong Kong know that the people there take their fortune telling very seriously. Not a coin in a machine and a fortune pops out on a card, but a few hundred USD and a session that lasts for more than an hour with some very established people who are very respected for what they do.

My friend took me to his many years ago. The only requirement is that you must know the date and exact time of your birth. The office is filled up with charts, old Chinese manuscripts, books, circle of life diagrams etc.

From what I remember from mine is the following:

1) I was told that my previous life I was Asian, and killed in WWII and I was a soldier, but not a Japanese soldier, I was killed by the Japanese. He couldn't pinpoint what country I was from then. I was born this time in 1950 so the timing may fit, and of course he knew that.

2) He said in this life I was a soldier also and served in Asia. True, and no way he could have known that except from my age, and a guess not old enough for Korea, and fit the Vietnam age.

3) He told me I had been a person of faith since a child and that this would give me great peace and strength throughout this life. He was right, but again could have been a good guess.

4) He told me that relationships in Asia would make me the happiest, both business and personal. Right on both counts. The personal side consists of Thai 18 years, American/Swedish 1 year, Japanese 2 years, Thai again 10 years, and Thai this time 3 years and I hope the keeper. Business has been Asian related for 34 years now.

5) He told me I would be in termoil over personal relationships and would shift from contentment to unhappiness and back again many times. Spot on, see # 4 above.

6) He told me I would have children in later life. Could have been a guess but again correct. At the time my existing kids were in their teens and I had no desire to have more. It's happened though.

7) Last, he asked me if I wanted to know my 'end date'. I said absolutely not. He smiled and said "it's good" NOT "that's good", and that was the end of the session.

It's hard to document and explain the atmosphere as this all took place. Very serene and a bit spooky but comfortable. Whether BS or something to it, I don't know except for what has come true, so far. Pete

I was married to a Korean woman for 20 years (I was a good boy), produced 2 wonderful (and beautiful(her genes, not mine) children). After we broke up I dated a couple western women, but was not really attracted to them (in general, many gorgeous western women). I've always had a attraction to Asian women.

After divorce I went on vacation to Costa Rica, and met a woman from Honduras and began a relationship (long distance) (hence the Jessica Alba fetish  ). We ended on a nice mutual note.

Then I visited Thailand, and loved the culture, and country.

By coincidence I went in a Thai restaurant here in Southern California for a late dinner, I was the only customer so started talking to the Thai waitress. Two hours later I managed to get a phone number, 2 months I finally managed to get a date, now, almost 2 years later, we are engaged (sorry Jessica).

So I guess I am attracted to the Asian woman (but second is the Hispanic)

Interesting story Pete.

For what it is worth I have a little knowlwedge of the WWII in Asia from my Uncle who died about two years ago. He was an MO stationed mostly around the Pegu area from what we can make out now but names changed and the British Army had there own names for certain places mainly for security but sometimes just corruptions of Burmese names.

I have never studied that episode of the War in any detail but according to him the most Asian casulties by far were the Burmese. In true British style the Burmese were sent out first along with the ever present coolies in the event of any incursions by Japanese scouts and took the largest hit and of course there were many more of them than there were British. There was some very heavy fighting in the region when the Japanese advanced towards India which was their real objective.

Most countries capitulated in the face of the mighty Japanese onslaught but Burma, as it was the last barrier between the Japanese forces and the Jewel of the British Crown was fought for fiercly.

Official death tolls vary considerably but probably the true figure is somewhere around 2 - 3 milllion people (allied troops and civilians) in the whole of SE Asia. The vast majority of these would have Burmese.

The only other country that could have sustained losses of such a number would have been China but that would have been mainly at the begining of the war which srtarted in 1931 but did not really get seriuous until 1937 when it progressed until the Japanese turned their attention to the US and the British Empire which they could only effectively approach by land via Thailand. The most fierce fighting probably took place in 1942 when the Japanese attempted to take control of the Burma Road

So the likelyhood is that you were a Burmese soldier and could have copped it any time up until 1945 when the Japs were fianlly repelled.

I once went to visit one of these fortune tellers for a friend's sake rather than my own and I noticed that the questions seemed to be led by the reaction of the recipient of the previous question and answer. Probably just clever manipulation I think. However the re-birth of the human psyche is always a topic of interest.
